🔧 CUSTOM FABRICATION & SOLAR SETUP

We’ve worked with this customer before on their previous vehicle, so it was great to have them back in the workshop with their Hilux!

This time, we fitted a 440W house solar panel and fabricated the full mounting system from scratch to suit the setup.

House panels aren’t designed for the vibrations you get on the road, so we added a strengthening bar to help prevent cracking. We also made the bracket in-house, had it powder coated and finished it off with custom 3D-printed end caps. 👌

From custom fabrication and 3D printing to auto electrical work, we can take care of the whole job in-house.

Another canopy fit-out for Steward Pest Control 👌

This one was all about making sure they had plenty of power to run their pumps out in the field, while still keeping the rest of the canopy usable.

A few things we fitted up:

✔️ 400Ah Amptron battery
✔️ 440W solar panel
✔️ DC-DC charger + MPPT
✔️ 800VA inverter for charging Milwaukee batteries
✔️ 3-way switching for the pump solenoids
✔️ Anderson outlet for the water pump
✔️ Battery monitoring
✔️ Custom fabricated + powder coated brackets
✔️ Battery protection cover
✔️ Everything labelled and neatly mounted

All tucked up on the headboard and built around how they use the vehicle day to day.

This one was a bit of a mess 😬⚡️

This Cub camper came in with some serious electrical damage after a DC-DC charger connection started arcing against the AC charger.

The heat shrink had moved over time, exposing the connection and eventually causing a short — leaving us with melted wiring and two chargers that were no longer working.

Time to strip it back, find the cause and rebuild it properly 🔧

This one’s also getting a lithium upgrade with Redarc + Victron gear.

SUPER DUTY BUILD // PART 3 🔧

The Ranger Super Duty is making big progress, with this stage focused on the power system, lighting upgrades and all the behind-the-scenes wiring that brings the build together.

What’s been completed:
✅ Rewired factory roof switches to the rear lithium battery
✅ Custom Deutsch plug & fused power distribution
✅ Rock lights fitted front, sides & rear
✅ ARB compressor with hose reel installed
✅ Central locking wired to all canopy toolboxes
✅ Multiple Anderson plugs for solar, accessories & caravan charging
✅ Roof-mounted LED strips, Starlink & ALTIQ light bar

Still a bit more to go before the full reveal 👀

SUPER DUTY BUILD // PART 2 🔧

The Ranger Super Duty is making serious progress in the workshop. It might not look dramatically different, but there’s a huge amount happening behind the scenes.

What’s been completed in this stage:

Second-stage sound deadening
Behind-dash cabling for power & audio
Factory + Lightforce switch fascia integration
Battery system mock-up underway
Roof cabling routed and ready for the next stage

This is shaping up to be one of the most complete Super Duty fit-outs we’ve built.

👀 Part 3 is coming soon, where we’ll take you through the exterior and even more of the build.

💡 Where’s the best place to mount rock lights?

It’s one of the questions we get asked the most—and the answer depends on whether you’re chasing looks or practicality.

Wheel arches: Great for illuminating the suspension and giving the vehicle that underbody glow.
Under the side steps: Much more usable light for the ground beside the vehicle.
Bull bar & rear: Ideal for lighting up the front and back of the vehicle when setting up camp or navigating tracks.

The placement of your rock lights makes a massive difference to the light output, so it’s worth planning them properly before installation.
