1957 Porsche 356 Speedster.

One of just 22 genuine factory right hand drive examples built.

This exceptionally rare 356 Speedster underwent a complete concourse level restoration by Chequered Flag Restorations, with every detail carefully returned to the standard such an important car deserves.

This 1969 Porsche 911T arrived with a later 1980s inspired appearance, a common transformation many early cars have undergone over the years.
The owners vision was different.
He wasn’t chasing a concourse restoration. He wanted to build his perfect 911 hot rod - one that captured the timeless elegance of the early long-hood cars while reflecting his own personal style.
Working with an owner who genuinely appreciated the history of these cars made the project all the more rewarding. It was a pleasure to help bring his vision to life and create a 911 that perfectly reflects what he had imagined.

Some people restore history.

Others build the Porsche they’ve always dreamed of.

No budget, No compromises. Just one goal: conquer Targa Tasmania.

Starting life as an Australian delivered 1976 Porsche 930 Turbo, this extraordinary machine was transformed into the ultimate tarmac rally weapon. Built around a meticulously developed 3.5 litre twin plug engine, every component was selected with one purpose in mind - performance, reliability and outright speed.

The owner was involved throughout every stage of the build, ensuring no detail was overlooked and no corners were cut. The result is a purpose built 3.0 RS replica that perfectly blends classic porsche heritage with uncompromising Motorsport engineering.

Projects like this are what we live for at Chequered Flag Restorations - bringing a customer’s vision to life without compromise.

Where Australian Porsche history was brought back to life.
Hidden away in a shed in Kilsyth, Victoria, this extraordinary 1951 Porsche 356 Pre A Coupe is the first right hand drive Porsche coupe ever built and the first Porsche Coupe imported into Australia.
After years out of the spotlight, the car arrived at Chequered Flag Restorations for a complete, concourse-level restoration. Every component was painstakingly disassembled, assessed, restored or remanufactured where required before being meticulously reassembled to factory correct specification. From the body and paint to the mechanicals, trim and countless small details, the goal was simple - preserve the car’s authenticity while returning it to the standard it deserved.
The restoration honoured one of the most significant early Porsches in Australian history and was recognised with the Porsche Cars Australia Award in 2008.

Some cars are restored.

Others preserve history.

This was one of them.

1959 Porsche 356 Convertible D
Some restorations begin with a complete car. This one began as an unfinished dream.
Purchased as an incomplete project, this rare 1959 Porsche 356 Convertible D underwent a complete ground-up restoration at Chequered Flag Restorations. Every component was rebuilt or restored, and the car was converted from left hand drive to right hand drive while remaining true to the spirit and craftsmanship of the original.
For our client, this wasn’t just another classic Porsche - it was her dream car. She patiently waited while every detail was painstakingly brought back to life.
The result was a beautifully restored Convertible D that was recognised with Best 356 at the Porsche 356 Parade in 2021.

Lost for almost 40 years. Built for one of the toughest rallies ever.

This 1968 Porsche 911 is one of just 3 factory-built Werks cars created by Porsche for the legendary London to Sydney Marathon.

After disappearing for nearly 4 decades, the car was finally discovered in a shipping container in South Australian and entrusted to Chequered Flag Restorations.

It’s remarkable journey had already attracted international attention, with a Polish film crew documenting the search. They followed the original London to Sydney route before arriving at CFR to film the cars homecoming.
Unfortunately, the celebrations were short-lived. During transport, the car hadn’t been properly secured and arrived very badly damaged.
We meticulously restored this historic Porsche back to its original factory specification, preserving the legacy of the car originally driven by Sobislaw Zasada.

Jason went on to win the People’s Choice award for its restoration.

Some cars tell a story. This one lived it.

Legends deserve a second life.

This 1969 Porsche 911s Chesterfield is one of Australia’s most iconic Porsche race cars.

When we found this car, it had spent almost 30 years abandoned outdoors. It was in horrific condition, quite literally being held together by weeds. After its racing career, it had been converted into a sports sedan. Making the journey back to its original specification was an enormous undertaking.
Today, this Australian racing legend has been returned to the car you see here - a restoration we’re incredibly proud of to have completed.

Some toys are worth growing up with.
This 1981 Porsche 936 Junior is one of approx 100 built to celebrate Porsche’s victory at Le Mans.
When it arrived at CFR it was in poor condition after years of being enjoyed as an ordinarily Children’s toy with little knowledge of its rarity or future value.
We carried out a full restoration, returning it to complete working condition before it headed to auction…
Where it achieved a world record sale price.

Sometimes the smallest projects have the biggest stories.
