Coumva Automotive might be a name you’ve heard at a car event or two, and with good reason. As one of the best in the burnout scene, and with a ute as iconic as his, it’s pretty bloody hard to miss them!

Unfortunately, the inside didn’t quite command the same respect as the outside, so we were tasked with changing that.

With nothing more than the keys in hand and a “trust the process” from us, he nervously handed it over and gave us free rein to bring the idea to life.

And there was a LOT involved.

This project has so many little details packed into it that one post just isn’t going to cut it. So this one’s getting a multi-day drop, with plenty more to come.

Andy brought us his VY SS for a much-needed interior refresh. The original cloth trim was torn, tired and beginning to separate from the foam underneath, so we knew this transformation would be night and day.

We brought the interior back to life with a bold Sting Red finish, retaining plenty of factory character while giving the VY the upgrade it deserved.

Taz came to us wanting to change the old interior from 𝗪𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿 to 𝗢𝗛 𝗙**𝗞 𝗬𝗘𝗘𝗘𝗔𝗔𝗔𝗛𝗛𝗛!

With that custom grey laid down on the body, and the Series 1 Pewter factory colour as our starting point, we took a couple of Taz’s goal photos, worked up a colour scheme using different grey hues, and locked it in.

After years of research, we're exploring the reproduction of some of Holden's most iconic steering wheels, manufactured to 𝐎𝐄𝐌 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜 but with higher grade materials, profiles and finishes.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞:

Reproduction 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐝𝐬 and 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐬 are earmarked for development, with an estimated release within the following 𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐬.

Tooling costs to ensure the correct finish are quite significant, so before committing to production we're looking to gauge genuine interest.

Simon wanted to give his VF the full CDA “No Bull” treatment, transforming every touch point from the seats through to the roof lining. Rather than focusing on one hero feature, the goal was to create an interior where every component worked together as one cohesive package.

With the Red Hot exterior already turning heads, it only made sense to bring that same energy inside. The result is an interior that’s bold without being overdone, where every material, stitch and accent has been carefully selected to complement the next.

Dillon came to us wanting something that blended old school styling with modern comfort. His HQ Kingswood still wore its factory 30X trim, but the original bench-style buckets just didn’t cut it.

After working through a few options, we settled on the perfect recipe:

✂️ Coulson foams fitted to supplied VT seat frames

✂️ Reproduction HQ/HJ 30X Long Grain Vinyl to perfectly match the factory rear seat

✂️ Backboards cleaned, reformed and retrimmed in matching vinyl

✂️ Side plastics modified and trimmed to create a factory-style finish

At first glance, it might not look like a huge transformation, but these are often the most demanding builds. Every panel had to be patterned from scratch, every component modified to suit, and every line carefully balanced to make the seats look as close as possible to the rears while remaining practical on a modern form.

Over 40 hours later, the result is a pair of Coulson-equipped buckets that look right at home in the Pagewood-built HQ, courtesy of our great team.
