Campsite Bookings Extended to Tuesday Following Repco Bathurst 1000

Bathurst 1000 Campers at Mount Panorama and Council-run campsites are being provided the option to remain onsite until 10am Tuesday morning, extending the regular campground departure time of 12pm Monday.

This initiative follows Council's approval for $185,000 in NSW Government grant funding to hold a CBD event on Monday afternoon, 12 October, to delay the departure of some race fans and reduce traffic impacts on the Great Western Highway.

Supercars has announced they are extending the traditional campground departure time to provide fans with flexibility, spread departures across a few days and alleviate traffic congestion on key transport routes out of Bathurst.

Council has similarly made arrangements to extend stays at Council-managed CBD camping sites for those wanting to remain in Bathurst for the Monday activation. Information about this will be provided directly to affected campers in the coming days.

Council is working hard to put together a captivating Monday afternoon event that gives visitors a genuine reason to stay in Bathurst a little longer and is also something our local community can come out and enjoy.

Temporary Road Closure // Mount Panorama

The public is advised that part of the Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit will be closed to traffic on Saturday 5 September and Sunday 6 September 2026, between the hours of 7am and 6pm, to allow the Bathurst Light Car Club to conduct the Conrod Flyer, as follows:

🚫 Supersprint - Saturday 5 September 2026 - closure will be in place from the eastern side of McPhillamy Park gates on Skyline through the Esses, Conrod and Pit Straights to Mountain Straight side of Hell Corner. Alternate access will be via Ray Bant Drive and the Chase Tunnel.

🚫 Flying 1/5th - Sunday 6 September 2026 - from the eastern side of McPhillamy Park gates on Skyline, through the Esses and Conrod Straight to Murray’s Corner.

An Important Announcement!

As we move into the second half of the year, we’re counting down to the Great Race in October, but before we get there, there’s the important matter of our annual Father’s Day event!

This year, we’re celebrating the day a week later, as there will be activity on track on Fathers Day, so we are unable to do our normal passenger laps around Mount Panorama with our beautiful replica race cars!

So get out your diary, and put a mark down next to Sunday 13 September for the first (and possibly only🤞) I Can’t Believe It’s Not Father’s Day event at the National Motor Racing Museum! We’ll have all the usual activities on the day, free entry for Dads and Father figures to the Museum, and a look at our all-new Special Exhibition that will be a very special one - but we’ll tell you about that later on 🤔

So tell Dad you’ve got plans, and come along to the Mount on Sunday 13 September! We’ll be taking bookings for our replica race car laps from mid-August, so keep an eye on our page for all the details!
