What a week in the workshop! We’ve just wrapped up the ultimate "Man’s Best Friend" setup on this Ford Ranger Super Duty, because let's be honest—dogs are better company than most people anyway.
This customer refuses to leave home without his pups, and after seeing this build, we don’t blame him. We’ve essentially built a five-star, off-grid Hilton in the tray, ensuring these dogs live a life of absolute luxury while their owner does all the driving.
Here is how we turned this Ranger into the ultimate canine cruiser:
The Penthouse Suite: A heavy-duty Teralume Industries tray combined with a dogbox canopy. It features integrated water tanks and a 12V water pump, perfect for filling bowls or washing off whatever questionable thing they just rolled in.
The Power Station: Tucked inside is a massive iTechworld300Ah Ultra-Slim Lithium battery paired with a 2000W inverter. Connected to rooftop solar, DC-DC charging, and an integrated AC-DC charger for when it's parked at home (which won't be often). This thing has more electrical juice than a modern studio apartment.
Creature Comforts: A dedicated canopy fridge to keep the dog treats (and the owner's beers) crisp, plus full internal LED lighting.
Comms & Style: A GME UHF radio mounted cleanly on the front end using a Pirate Camp Co. bonnet bracket.
Turning Night into Day: Up front, we fitted a dual-row ONYX Lights42-inch lightbar with changeable DRLs that line up perfectly with the factory Ford signature lighting. It looks sleek by day, and has enough power to sunburn a kangaroo at midnight.
If the customer ever gets kicked out of the house, at least he knows he can comfortably live in the back of his truck with his best mates.
Huge thanks to the owner for letting us bring this beast to life. This is a rig we would all be proud to drive!
