This nissan navara had codes coming up for the crank angle sensor. The customer had changed it before. Recommended changing the top and bottom timing chains as worn chains can cause the codes to come up. Found the gear on the crank shaft to have caused the problem as i had nearly stripped the woodruff key causing the chain to be about one tooth out.

Went to this Fuso canter and replaced the oil cooler gaskets and o-rings.

Just a few of the jobs from last month.

Kubota gr2120 ride on mower needed some new bearings in the transmission. While having the transmission apart, found that the glide steer washers had become worn and needed replacing.

Toyota prado was making some noises from the front brake. Found that the brake pads had let go from the glue. New pads and rotors and was all sorted.

Toro zero turn mower had issue starting. Pulled the starter motor apart and found the the magnet had let go and was jamming the starter motor. New starter motor and was out mowing again.

Mazda bt50 needed new glow plugs.

Honda crv starter motor replacement.

Spit water pressure cleaner stripped the belt. Found that the mount for the water pump had broken the welds and was making the belt loose. Welded up and was go to go again.

The start of an engine rebuild in a land cruiser 80 series. Engine started to make a knocking noise in the bottom end. While moving the car into the shed the main bearings seized.

This little john deere zero turn had an starting issue. The starter motor seemed like it wasn’t engaging with the fly wheel. Took the flywheel off to find that it was made of plastic and had stripped out the teeth on the flywheel.

This v6 holden rodeo wasn’t running just right. Sprayed a little brake clean at the back of the engine and noticed that the rpms went up. Took the intake manifold off and found that the plastic gaskets had broken and was letting air in after the sensors. Replaced the gasket and the car was running like a dream again.

Customer rang me saying that the temperature got really hot on this nissan navara yd25 and then it wouldn’t start once it cooled down. Took the radiator cap off and tried to start the car. While trying to start the car the water was pushed out off the radiator meaning the head gasket let go. So the fun began stripping the motor down to remove the head gasket and test the integrity of the head after getting hot. It had failed the hardness test meaning that the aluminium head had gotten to soft and if it went back on it would not last long. Ordered the new cylinder head and every thing went back together. Of course it wasn’t all smooth going. While putting the turbo back on, the nut grab the threads on the stud and snapped the stud inside the exhaust manifold. The car ran good and the customer was happy.

We have had around 1100mm of rain since monday at home (east russell). As you can see our road is currently flooded. It has been going down but with this rain coming back it will most likely rise again. I do have a car on the otherside of the river and can come across via boat. I will only be going across from emergency break downs or larger all day jobs as crossing the river has its hazards.
