At Bruny Island Holiday Park we have all sorts of walk-ins...and sometimes...fly-ins.
Meet one of Australia's most magnificent native moths, the Emperor Gum Moth! 🦋
With its velvety wings, earthy colours and extraordinary eye-like markings designed to frighten predators, this gentle giant is completely harmless (and super fluffy).
What makes it even more fascinating is that adult Emperor Gum Moths cannot eat or drink.
They live for only a short time, relying entirely on energy stored as caterpillars.
A beautiful reminder of how extraordinary and delicate nature can be. ❤️🌿
Now the issue is that she keeps flying back to my hands to rest.
We'll keep it safe until safe to be released this evening 🙏

We are absolutely over the moon!

Just over 6 months ago, we took on this beautiful little park with big dreams, endless ideas and a whole lot of determination.

It's been hard work, long days, plenty of challenges and a LOT of learning, but we've put our hearts into making this place something special.

And today, we received news that made it all feel so worth it!

We've been recognised by Star Ratings Australia as a 2026 Gold List achiever for Holiday Parks in Tasmania! 🥇

What makes this so special is that it's based on our guests' experiences and reviews.That means the world to us!

To everyone who has stayed with us, supported us, encouraged us or taken the time to leave a kind review: THANK YOU! You have no idea how much this means.

We're so proud of how far we've come, and we're only just getting started!

We can't wait to celebrate at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards Gala on 6 November, alongside some of Tasmania's incredible tourism operators.

Not bad for 3 dreamers with a little holiday park on Bruny Island! ❤️
