We recently had this tidy HG in with a huge list of tuning issues that made the car undriveable. After having a carby fed, crate LS motor fitted by a well known shop the poor thing never ran right, so after much to and fro she was taken to a specialist shop for rectification.

They decided a Sniper2 EFi solution would be the best outcome, yet after months again of to and fro and no real solution (but more invoices to pay) the car was eventually parked due to sheer frustration. Not even being able to start it properly, she spent a long time gathering dust until she was finally brought to us.

After a baseline run to see what was going on we proceeded to make our own ignition timing map via the MSD timing module and then in the Sniper we realised the tuning parameters were so far out we did a full factory reset on the Sniper to remove the previous tune.

We finished her off with a full custom tune including cold start maps, accelerator enrichment etc etc and now she's a whole different set of wheels....for less than a tenth of what she'd previously had spent on her ;)

What started out as another sad tale of someone falling in love with a car, only to purchase it and find out all wasn't as it seemed. With an allegedly 'new' stroker burning more oil than petrol it was dropped to us for further investigation...we were greeted by damaged bores and pistons and an engine combo that could never make the advertised power. As per the pictures, you'll see it was anything but 'new'....

We started with a re-sleeve and building a 383 that would exceed the power goals her owner was looking for. We added Sniper EFi, ICE EFi Ignition Control System, new custom fuel system, custom 3" exhaust and a new, shortened 9" rear and custom 4" tail-shaft rounded the package off with a well respectable 468HP at the treads.

This week we had this tidy wh**ey HZ on the rollers, engine was built 15 years ago and since the owner has complained it lacked in performance. A quick health check confirmed the engine was okay, it just needed a proper tune.

A new QuickFuel Brawler was fitted (rather than rebuilding the Rochester) and with a decent tune....well the results speak for themselves 😝

A collaborative effort between RP Racing & Mototune, this unusual site on our dyno certainly drew attention to itself!

This Hyabusa motor powered beast was freshly purchased buy its new owner who wasn’t happy with its reliability/drivability and horsepower. So in a collaborative effort the two teams worked together on a new air/intake/throttle setup and a custom ECU Flash with Woolich software.

The result was not just another 30Hp at the wheels, but better/reliable starting and driveability.

The "355" From Hell.....we had the pleasure *cough cough* of this 'work of art' come by the engine room late last year, for diagnosis as to the failure of a sub-400km new build.

With only 380kms (and FOUR oil changes - as suggested by the engine builder, hoping the noises would go away) on the clock this poor engine was in a very poorly state. After close examination of the parts delivered, we ascertained that she'd been running on roughly a 90-10 ratio of engine oil to sand blaster garnet....yep, you read that right!

The shop who built the engine had pulled it down and couldn't find the fault, aiming to re-charge the customer for another rebuild. As you can see from some of these photo's, it had been eating itself away with every km put on her since first start-up (ie. the garnet residue was already inside her from the get-go as found on both inner and outer bearing shells).

With only the block and heads left to save, the remainder of the new parts were binned and she was rebuilt again....cleanly this time 😉

The new combo is happily purring away, first (500km) service down and we still can't wipe the smile off the customers face! 😁

is nearing completion! This week we had the custom braided lines made and installed, bed in the gearbox and diff then ran a few runs on the dyno for some gentle love and care ;)

Her owner is heading down the resto-mod direction so we went with a Holley Sniper Stealth EFI system, which alone gained us a 10% power gain, and gives us control of the fans, cold start benefits of EFI etc etc.

From here on it's getting the interior sorted, some more fresh glass, a few little mods and she'll be street worthy soon!
