SS COMARO
In for check fuel mixtures , fuel pressure and flow
Timing
Manifold vacuum and brake pedal action
Pedal feels gd , brakes working but only up and down our driveway
Poss requires a vac pump or just a vacuum tank
As venicle going thru engineering , brake fade test etc
We couldnt drive it on the road to test them properly as not registered at this stage
So we , couldnt determin what it actually requires for braking
Coming back soon with trade plate or a day pass for us to be able to test drive and assess

Old prem
Hasnt ran for over 2 yrs
Fuel removed , lines and fuel pump cleaned, new 98 ulp put in tank as these were designed by manufactures to run 98 plus octane
As 91 and 95 unleaded petrol wasnt around back in the day
Carby o/hauled
Bores oiled up , pre start procedure
Now running
Still requires engine cleaner to remove sludge from bottom of sump
Radiator removed and engine flushed
Run up to temperature and check all heater hoses etc
New oil and filter , coolant poss thermostat
Then brakes especially rear cylinders and fluid

HOLDEN PV
In for carby and tune
Found voltages wrong to distributer 12.9 should be min 13.8 v for electronic ignition
Wiring issue , auto electrician to sort as vehicle has had full rewire at sum stage and ignition wire with resistor was removed

Base gasket put around the wrong was
Power valve had half the old gasket and a new one fitted
Jets way too small , 6 thou below standard
Reconditioned carby, replaced jets

Holden
In to tune and set up brawler carby we fixed last week after it was badly set up
WELL no pvc valve just a piece of tube in the rocker cover going straight to full vacuum
Massive air leak

Make sure vehicle (Pre 1985) has 98 ulp in tank if not vehicle comes back when it does
Thats what they were designed to use from factory as that was the octane fuel around in that era,
NOT 95 or 91 octane
Our procedure especially modified engines
Check manifold vacuum to workout what size power valve engine requires if a Holley carby or similar
Check fuel pump pressure and flow
Require no more than 7 psi as carby needle and seats wont handle anymore pressure
Check alternater / coil voltage min 13.8v
Then check tdc on No 1 cyl remark harmonic balancer if required
Then we can start tuning / setting carby mixtures by our analyzer
Set base timing and check total timing at 3000 rpm just to be sure of advancement
This vehicle had Ice ignition so start at our proven base setting , road test and adjust / tweak on the road if required
Last of all remove a spark plug and inspect to make sure all gd
How all vehicles on dynos etc should be done
Not just looking for HP.

Havnt seen this type of rubbish for decades
Silicone carby gaskets to stop fuel leaking
Silicone and fuel dont mix ,
Now soak in our goo and acids to remove it

Brawler carby in for sorting
This is how it was given back to customer
His car hardly drove
Carby Required the common 4 things that Holley assemble wrong,
Require to first fix them before even attempting tuning
And all this was done to attempt to fix the rich running problem
Weve Found

Drilled holes in throttle discs ( this modification isnt done to fix a rich problem )
Dropped secondary mains from 84 to 69
Dropped primary mains to 74 to 72
Power valve obviously leaking as has fuel on the vacuum side
Drop size of pump nozzle and then the
metering gaskets

NONE of this would ever fix the actual problem
Mask it possibly

When you dont know the fundamebtals of how a carby works /@ enough to repair or sort thec problem
Simple leave it alone and , be honest tell your customer that its not sumthing you do or dont know enough to be able to repair it.

SKI BOAT
Yes we can service, tune in board motors in most SKI BOATs
In ,for reconditioned carby replacement, fit new sizzy ,tune and oil change
Ended up with nearly a full rewire as was dodgly redone a while ago with trailer 5 core wiring and a ,hoysehold fuse
Found not charging, no fuse protection on all circuits , starter motor relay removed , we found sitting in the hull.
Now has 4 safety fuses, no amp metre as we fitted a volt gauge, starter motor relay
Now we just need to do an oil change and hand back to customer

Ford
Rocker stud now pinned and secured , clean up end and peen roll pin end over when loctite cured
Saved customer a huge amount, as their looking at replacing this engine with a 700 hp clevo very soon
