Just a reminder to check everything and everyones work. We had a fabricated blower intake made locally in Australia from a so called expert that suppose to know all about this stuff and even preaches on his own page. Well what a lesson we got and paid for it . We sent both heads and another intake with some changes we wanted. What we ended up with was an intake we couldn't bolt on.
1/ Bolt holes didn't line up
2/ An intake port i checked was leaking air through the so called weld that was suppose to be there.
3/ The water 'O' Ring was machined too low and would not seal the water
4/ All the 'O' Ring grooves were too deep with .007" protrusion. The grooves were cut too narrow as well. You don’t fit 2mm o rings in a 2mm wide groove. One picture shows the repaired O Ring grooves with a 2.5mm section and .017" protrusion
5/ The plenum port work was absolutely disgusting.
6/ China rails needed around .110" taken off just to get the intake faces to sit on the heads which then started to mis align the ports.
7/ Cracked weld on the port
8/ Distributor boss way too high. We even had to machine an adjustable slip collar cam sync and modify the clamp just to secure it.
Enough said, you get the picture. Lesson learnt. Just because people blow wind up there own asses doesn’t make them an expert. Be careful with your money and check everything before loosing your cash.
In his defence he did say send it back and we'll put in on our jig. This would be the jig he set it up on in the first place I would imagine. Never sent it back as we didn't get any clear answers as to what he was going to do to fix all the issues. We opted to fix as many issues we could ourselves. He even said we might need thin spacers if the ports don’t line up. F*k me seriously? Some guys are couple grams short of an ounce in this case I think

Had a custom order Dart block sent with bushed .937" lifter bores, 55mm cam journals with a few other things. Motor gets built and primed just to find out Dart USA fitted the bushes incorrectly. Ended up making a jig and mandrel to get them out and re fit them in the correct orientation. Also had to modify the oil hole in the bushes as the lifter band was blocking the oil path on the base circle and full lift positions. Ahh the joys and challenges now a days. If it was easy, anyone could do it.

So much s**t parts for these performance engines making these builds a pain in the ass. Crower valve locks even turning out s**t and need modifying. Just cant overlook anything anymore.

4.010" bore and standard stroke LS3 on pump fuel, Proflow heads, bowls opened up to 91%, seats recut and bowls blended. Custom 241degree street HR cam, 625hp, 510 ft lbs.Turned out good for a small cube.
