💧 What is a flood seal, and why is it so important?

Its job is to create a continuous waterproof barrier along the roof edge moulds, helping to prevent water from finding its way into the roof structure. 👌

As the caravan travels, it flexes and is constantly exposed to sun, rain, dust, and changing weather conditions, making this seal a critical line of defence.

A well maintained flood seal helps protect your caravan from water ingress, reducing the risk of hidden timber rot, delamination, mould, and expensive structural repairs.

Keeping the flood seal in good condition is one of the simplest ways to protect your investment and extend the life of your caravan. 💪

✅5–10 years is a reasonable lifespan for a quality roof sealant on a caravan.
✅Stored outside in full sun may need attention sooner around 3–5 years.
✅Stored undercover can often go longer if the sealant remains flexible and intact.

⚡Today’s mission: caravan roof rewire.

They say teamwork makes the dream work… but when it comes to rewiring a caravan roof, it also requires patience, skill, a few head scratches and the occasional “who wired this thing?! 🤔⚡😂”

Luckily, our service technicians know their way around a wiring loom and are putting this roof back together after an insurance repair.

💥What started as a routine chassis service quickly turned into something much bigger... 👀

This customer booked in for a routine brakes and bearings service. During our inspection, we discovered cracks in the chassis that weren't visible from the outside.🧐

Thankfully, these cracks were found early. Left undetected, they could have become a major safety hazard and required far more extensive repairs. 💵

🧰 Chassis repairs should be carried out by an experienced fabricator. Every crack is different, and the correct repair method depends on the crack location, chassis design, and the reason the crack occurred. In some cases, simply welding the crack without addressing the underlying cause can result in it cracking again.

Experience matters. Our qualified boilermaker has over 30 years in the trade and it shows in every weld.💥⛓️‍💥
