Squeaking when you press the pedal — pads getting low. Grinding sound — metal on metal, do not drive on it. Pedal feels soft or goes further than it used to — air or fluid issue, get it checked.

Adelaide hills, school zones and busy western suburbs roads are not places to find out your brakes are gone. If anything feels different, come in.

Three things make the biggest difference in winter: tyre tread above 3mm, wipers that actually clear (not smear), and brake pads with life in them.
