If this year is going to be your first year, or you're looking at wanting to try this event - you do need a Motorsport Australia Licence which can be organised prior to the event for $25 directly through Motorsport Australia. .

Well that’s a wrap for 2022.
The club got together for the yearly WRXmas over the break, and now the dust has settled here’s what you may have missed out on.
Hosted again at the Johnston Memorial park in Balhannah, the day was beautifully sunny with a gentle cool breeze. Couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day.
everyone started arriving and the BBQ was fired up cooking away.
After a good feed, we had finalised the motorsport points count for the year and had a trophy presentation.
This year was compromised of 12 rounds, and a 3 round Go Kart Championship to run alongside.
Our 2022 Go Kart Champion was Ben Edmonds. Congratulations Ben on a solid drive for the year.
Our 2022 Associate 1st place Winner was Gareth Scanlen, who managed to take this award by competing in the required number of disciplines to qualify!
Our 2022 Modifed Class 1st place Winner was Kirk Karaflyidis
Our 2022 Open Class 1st place Winner was Damian McGinn
Our 2022 Grand Champion Runner up on 80 Points was Kirk Karafylidis (It was a close 72 Points to Ben Edmonds in 3rd)
Congratulations to Kirk who is quite the new entry for motorsport. Keen to learn and improve, it was great to see him enter as many events as he could and push himself and car to new PB’s all the time.
Our 2022 Grand Champion for this year and the 4th year in a row on 125 points was Damian McGinn (Can anybody stop this guy?)
Congratulations to Damian, not only does he lead our club in direction, but performing on the track too. Constantly pushing his WRX and setting PB’s on almost every outing this year.
Stellar effort for all who competed and entered this years events.
Our 2023 Calendar is being put together now and will be released to members asap.
Not long after our presentation, we had a special guest arrive. Santa made his way into Balhannah, a week earlier than his usual schedule just to pop in and give the kids a couple of presents.
He also had the pleasure of inspecting the new 2022 WRX that was brought up by Brendan from Jarvis Subaru. Certainly an upgrade from that Sleigh he gets around in, and quite a few more reindeer power I’m told.
Not long after, it was time to wrap up and head off home.
Thankyou to everyone that made this year exceptional, the committee, members and partners, sponsors, volunteers and everyone in between. All have made a valued contribution that makes this club one of the greatest.
We’re looking forward to a great 2023 both socially, and motorsport alike.
The club wishes you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Be safe, and we’ll be back in 2023 for another great WRXSA year.

WRXSA is a Motorsport Australia affiliated club which allows you to get your Motorsport licence - which is needed to participate in timed track days. Other requirements are a helmet, tow point and battery stickers, a fire extinguisher and long sleeve shirt trousers and closed shoes.

Joining WRXSA also allows you to participate in our Club Championship (which has some great prizes), access to our members only social events such as info nights and gokarting and access to the great deals our generous club sponsors have for the members.

Hey Everyone! WRXSA memberships are up for renewal.

‘Full Member’ Renewals are $60 yearly.
‘Associate Member’ Renewals are $30 yearly.

Initial calls for renewal of memberships starts 1st July each year. You have until the October 31st cut-off date to renew your membership.

Please note, if you renew after the 31st of October, you will need to pay the additional $20 joining fee – $80 total. So get in early, don’t miss it!
