Sometimes the problem is hiding in plain sight 👀🔧

This is why diagnosis matters.

What you’re looking at is a before and after clean-up of an internal steering component and there was a LOT going on in there.

The first photo shows just how much degraded material and debris had built up around the mechanism. Once cleaned out, you can actually see what’s underneath and assess what’s happening properly.

Cars aren’t always as simple as plugging in a scanner and replacing a part. Sometimes you have to get in there, investigate and find the actual cause.

This morning at our Christies Beach store. Quick smoke test = quick answers. Air leaks don’t always make noise or trigger a warning light, but they can mess with performance and fuel use. The smoke shows exactly where the leak is hiding, and it’s made from heated baby oil.
