A cyclist was struck and carried on the hood of a traffic‑enforcement vehicle during a startling incident in central Saint Petersburg — a scene that witnesses described as surreal and unsettling, almost unfolding in slow motion along the busy stretch of Nevsky Avenue.

According to initial reports, the cyclist was dragged for several metres before tumbling onto the sidewalk, while bystanders looked on in shock. Several witnesses claimed that the vehicle left the scene shortly afterward, adding to the confusion surrounding the event.

Authorities later confirmed that the vehicle belonged to a contractor operating under the city’s parking management system. The driver has since been suspended, and officials announced additional disciplinary measures along with reinforced road‑safety protocols to prevent similar incidents.
