Kumho Tire has chosen Opole, Poland as the location for its first European manufacturing plant, marking a major step in strengthening its global production network across Asia, Europe, and North America. The new factory will begin initial operations in August 2028 with an annual capacity of six million tires, backed by an investment of US$587 million.

Opole was selected after evaluating multiple European regions, offering strong logistics, skilled labor, competitive infrastructure, and attractive government incentives. Europe accounts for 25% of global tire demand and contributed 26.6% of Kumho’s revenue in 2024, making it a strategically important market.

The European plant will enhance Kumho’s ability to supply high-value-added products, improve competitiveness in the original equipment (OE) sector, and strengthen partnerships with major European car manufacturers.

In parallel, Kumho Tire is also building a new plant in Hampyeong, Korea, set for completion in 2027. With facilities in Korea, Europe, and North America, the company aims to establish a fully integrated global production framework to meet regional market needs and accelerate growth.

Kumho Tire France will sponsor Stade Toulousain, a TOP 14 rugby club in France, until 2028.

Kumho Tire has signed a sponsorship agreement with Stade Toulousain, a renowned rugby club in France.

This partnership allows the South Korean tire-maker to serve as a premium sponsor for three and a half years, from the 2024-2025 to the 2027-2028 seasons. Stade Toulousain is one of Europe’s most prestigious rugby teams, having won the TOP 14, France’s premier rugby union club competition, 23 times, including in the 2023-2024 season. The team also holds a record six titles in the European Rugby Champions Cup - the most of any club.

A sport with global appeal, rugby has captured the hearts and minds of fans around the world with its raw physicality and tactical complexity. In particular, the TOP 14, enjoys broad popularity, with an average close to 15,000 spectators per match. Stade Toulousain is widely regarded as one of the top teams in Europe.

Under the sponsorship deal, Kumho’s logo will feature on the players’ kit, on LED screen boards during matches at Stade Ernest-Wallon, the team’s home stadium, and on the team’s website and social media channels. Kumho will work with Stade Toulousain to organize joint events and conduct promotional activities as part of its effort to engage directly with the team’s global fan base.

In addition to Stade Toulousain, Kumho also sponsors AC Milan in Italy, Tottenham Hotspur in the United Kingdom, Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany, and FK Mlada Boleslav in the Czech Republic. The company will strengthen its marketing efforts and investments to enhance communication with customers worldwide and further solidify its position as a premium tire manufacturer.

Kumho Tire has won the Green Good Design Award 2024 of North America in the Green Transportation category.

The award is an extension of the Good Design Award, one of the three most prestigious honors in the design world. It recognizes design works that promote environment-friendliness and sustainability and is organized by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design, and Urban Studies.

Kumho has enjoyed the honor of having three products named as winners: the Majesty X SOLUS, SOLUS TA21, and Road Venture AT52.

An upgraded version of the premium Majesty SOLUS tire, the Majesty X SOLUS is the highest-end model designed for sedans, coupes, and crossover vehicles.
