Battery flat? Don’t panic. Knowing how to jumpstart a car safely is a must-have skill for every motorist. 🚗
Whether you accidentally left your lights on or your battery simply gave up, here are 5 easy steps to get back on the road safely:
1️⃣ Red clamp → positive terminal on the dead battery
2️⃣ Other red clamp → positive terminal on the working battery
3️⃣ Black clamp → negative terminal on the working battery
4️⃣ Other black clamp → engine block of the dead vehicle
5️⃣ Start the working car, let it idle for a few minutes, switch it off, then start the other car
✅ Always connect and remove cables in the correct order
✅ Let the engine run afterwards so the battery can recharge
⚠️ If the car doesn’t start after 15 seconds, stop and get professional help!
Battery experts recommend checking your battery every 6 months to avoid unexpected breakdowns - especially before road trips or busy mornings. A healthy battery can last 4–5 years with proper care.
