Toyota Corolla Cross XR Hybrid in sunny South Africa

I had the privilege of taking the fastest accelerating stock Toyota in sunny South Africa for a spin. This thing is dangerously quick to say the least! There's absolutely zero drama when you put pedal to the medal except everything that was lying around in the car goes flying towards the rear of the vehicle. It is super luxurious, super comfortable, extremely spacious and even good-looking for an EV.

Toyota is definitely right up there with the best of them even when it comes to EV's. If it fits your budget this thing will provide you with endless amounts of smiles especially around town but until there's a lot more super fast chargers all over the highways and by ways of sunny South Africa my Toyota Corolla Cross XR Hybrid will do Cape Town to Pretoria in half the time, if not a third of the time, than what it will take this missile to do it, but if this fits your budget you won't be driving but flying first class so no worries about highway speed then.

Visiting Upington Toyota for a test drive of the newly launched RAV4 HEV and PHEV and what an experience.

The PHEV RAV4 definitely jumped straight to the top of the wishlist, it is simply unbelievable to think you're in a Toyota SUV when launching this top of the range RAV4 not even to mention all the features and comfort and luxury.

The RAV4 HEV was also extremely impressive but only if you test drive it before you test drive the PHEV. I took the HEV for a short economy drive to compare it economy wise to the Corolla Cross Hybrid and according to the trip computer it almost seems as if it might give the Corolla Cross Hybrid a run for its money when it comes to fuel economy, performance wise it lacks absolute nothing with plenty of power to spare.

The RAV4 GR-SPORT definitely the looker of the lineup and personally I think it's going to be the favorite among buyers.

The Corolla Cross models on display in the showroom also looks great especially those side stickers that I reckon will compliment any Corolla Cross.

Thank you Upington Toyota for the experience!Time was just too short for sampling the new Hilux and FJ Cruiser but both look as if they are going to dominate their categories also.
