Rumors suggest Toyota is developing a new Celica sports model featuring all-wheel drive, hybrid technology, and a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine capable of producing around 400 to 450 horsepower.

Toyota executive Hiroki Nakajima reportedly confirmed the revival with four words enthusiasts have been waiting to hear: “We will make the Celica.” Expected to slot between the Toyota GR86 and the Toyota GR Supra, the new Celica could blend rally-inspired performance, everyday usability, and cutting-edge hybrid technology.

Early reports point to aggressive Gazoo Racing styling, AWD capability, and performance worthy of the Celica nameplate. With the legendary Toyota Celica GT-Four serving as inspiration, this modern interpretation could become Toyota’s next great performance icon.
