It’s almost impossible to catch them without a smile on their faces.

No matter the weather, no matter the hours, our technical crew are the true unsung heroes of the series. Their dedication, professionalism, and passion ensure that every car on track meets the required standards and that every event runs safely and fairly.

Whatever the drivers throw at them, they remain the first and last line of defence.

A huge round of applause to our incredible technical team. Your hard work often happens behind the scenes, but it never goes unnoticed.

Updated Backdraft Racing Series Points Standings

After 3 of the 7 rounds, Mike McLoughlin remains at the top of the championship standings — but only by a single point!

Mario da Silva made the biggest move in the top positions, climbing four places to take second overall, while Rob Mordaunt now sits third in the championship battle.

So far, 31 drivers have scored points this season, highlighting just how competitive the Backdraft Racing Series has become.

With 4 rounds still to go, the championship is wide open and every point will count.

Remember, each driver must still drop their lowest-scoring round at the end of the season, which could have a major impact on the final standings

Growing our fan base 🎙️📻

Last weekend, we were honoured to welcome trufm / SABC Radio to our event. You might think, "That's nothing new," but this time we reached both English and IsiXhosa-speaking audiences!

DJ Simo "Captain Zee" Zokwana was an absolute legend, enjoying a hot lap and delivering live broadcasts throughout the 5-Hours race.

The response and feedback from the IsiXhosa community was incredible. Expanding the reach of motorsport to new audiences is something we're passionate about, and seeing so many new fans engage with the Backdraft Racing Series was truly special.

A huge thank you to Gareth Burley, Captain Zee, TruFM, and everyone who tuned in and joined the journey. The Backdraft Racing Series family keeps growing!

Backdraft Racing driver Fikile Holomisa has secured a new sponsorship deal for the remainder of his racing season, with CTM and ProGrip coming on board as his title sponsors.

In challenging economic times, securing new sponsorship is a significant achievement and a testament to the value Fikile brings to his partners.

This is fantastic news not only for Fikile and his team, but also for the Backdraft Racing Series. It reinforces the confidence sponsors have in our concept and the opportunities our platform creates for drivers and brands alike.

Bottomless Red Bull! 🥤⚡

Indeed, Red Bull Africa was back at Round 3, keeping our teams fuelled with an endless supply of throughout race day.

And it wasn't only the competitors who benefited. The spectators, marshals and officials who braved the torrential rain were also treated to some much-needed energy.

A huge thank you to Red Bull South Africa for supporting our event and helping everyone power through a challenging day at the track.

The Martins are the "M" in Motorsport.

Another successful Backdraft Racing Series round is in the books at Aldo Scribante Racetrack.

With 22 cars on the grid and horrendous weather conditions throughout the weekend, the event ran flawlessly from start to finish.

Tony and Brian Martin can be proud of what they have achieved in their first year at the helm. The best part? Drivers, teams, and fans are all loving it.

Veni, vidi, vici. 💪

They came, they saw, and they conquered!

John-Henri Vaughan and Troy Dolinschek delivered on their mission to win the Backdraft Racing Series 5-Hours of Aldo Scribante Racetrack.

The Cape Town duo produced an exceptional performance, taking the lead from the very start and never looking back. Through changing conditions, pit stops, and five grueling hours of racing, they remained in control to claim a dominant victory.

Ryan Matchett and Alan Spies finished second, while Steve Truter and Mario da Silva completed the podium in third.
