U GO ROAD READY SA is a comprehensive school-based road safety and driver education programme designed to empower and educate learners as they prepare for the K53 learner’s and driver’s licence process.
The programme goes beyond simply helping learners pass their tests. Its primary purpose is to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and responsible mindset needed to become safe, responsible, and courteous road users.
Since its launch, U Go Road Ready SA has successfully presented interactive road safety workshops at Herschel Girls’ School and Rustenburg Girls’ High School in Cape Town, reaching more than 450 Grade 11 and 12 learners. These workshops have received positive feedback from both educators and learners, demonstrating the value of introducing practical K53 and road safety education within schools.
By introducing road safety education before learners begin driving, U Go Road Ready SA aims to improve learner and driver’s licence pass rates, promote responsible road behaviour, and contribute to building a generation of safer drivers who will help make South Africa’s roads safer for everyone.
