Getting Started on Facebook - Creating a page, joining groups, paid advertising and sharing your posts.
After registering on the OMC Portal I created this page. The goal of this page is to provide guidance to my Child Agents and to share milestones, earnings and marketing material.
In my next post I will explain in detail, the steps I took to create my first Advert post. This one will focus on the more high level process of boosting, sharing and monitoring that post.
Then I decided that I was going to allocate a small budget to paid marketing. I set up my paid account. This is a great youtube video to watch, it explains everything you will ever need to know about paid Facebook Advertising and is definitely worth watching. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVq5tmHWx7M
I must note, some things on Facebook you have to do under your personal Facebook account, such as joining groups, sharing posts from your page to groups, advertising vehicles on Facebook Marketplace and boosting paid ads. And other things you can only do under the profile on the new page, such as creating posts and managing your page. To switch between accounts click on your profile image at the right top corner of the page and select "See all Profiles" then select the profile you want to use. I attached a picture for clarity. It might seem tricky at first but you will get used to it. On a mobile phone it is a little bit different but still possible and just as easy.
It is not necessary to pay for ads, another very effective way to reach your market is by posting the posters in as many public and private groups as possible. I searched for Groups containing the word Vehicle or Car and immediately found hundreds of car sales groups. I joined the groups one by one and after about 25 Facebook suspended my account for one hour. I realised that a safe amount of group joins and shares on those groups are no more than 20 per hour. I created the first post on my new page (the Fortuner Flash sale promotion) and I started to share it on as many groups as possible, no more than 20 in an hour. I created a Google Sheet to track all my groups and posters to make sure I post every poster in every group before I start at the beginning. I attached a picture.
As soon as I started sharing my post started getting views and interactions. There is a great way to track this to see exactly what is happening. Switch to your own account as explained above and then click on the three dots at the top right corner of the post on your page. Select "Manage Post" and you will be redirected to your page's business management portal. I attached a screen shot of the statistics you will be able to see to gauge how well your post is doing. The metrics are pretty self explanatory.
It was simple to post and share my first ad and it was so rewarding to see it's performance. In the next post I will go into detail about creating your first posts and what to do when an interested customer bites!
