Know the condition of the engine from the spark plugs

1. Good condition: Spark plugs with a light brown or tan insulator and a clean electrode indicate a healthy engine with proper combustion.
2. Saturated with oil: Excessive oil on the spark plug suggests potential issues with the piston rings, valve seals, or PCV system. This condition can lead to misfires, decreased engine performance, and increased emissions.
3. Gap adjustment: The spark plug gap is crucial for proper ignition. An incorrect gap can cause misfires, difficulty starting, and reduced engine power. Regular checks and adjustments are essential.
4. Carbon build-up: Black, sooty deposits on the spark plug indicate incomplete combustion, often due to a rich fuel mixture, clogged air filter, or faulty fuel injectors.
5. Lead deposits: A grayish or white appearance on the spark plug suggests the use of leaded fuel, which is no longer available in most regions. These deposits can hinder engine performance.
6. Carbon fouling: Excessive carbon buildup can cause misfires, difficulty starting, and reduced engine power. Addressing issues with the fuel pump, air filter, and combustion process is necessary.
7. Overheating: Spark plugs exposed to excessive heat may show signs of damage, such as melted electrodes or cracked insulators. This could indicate cooling system problems.
8. Fuel type mismatch: Using a lower octane fuel than recommended can lead to engine knocking and damage to spark plugs. Upgrading to a higher octane fuel or addressing engine issues might be necessary.
9. Mechanical issues: Abnormal wear or damage to the spark plug, such as electrode erosion or cracks, may indicate underlying mechanical problems in the engine, like a worn piston or valve issues.

Postal truck gets postal on parked car.

Australia Post, Australia main postal service and operator of the parcel delivery service, Star Track, jas been cutting costs for several years, even reducing deliveries of regular mail to a few times a week.
Judging by this video, it may seem they have even gone to lesser quality driver. How did he miss that light pole on the forst corner?

The original workshop for the Holden
Dealer Team (HDT) was located at 33-35 Queens Avenue in Hawthorn, Melbourne.
The building was demolished in June 2020 to make way for a commercial development.

The workshop was built in the 19th century as a Cobb & Co station. Harry Firth, a former Ford Australia factory team racer purchased the site in the early 1960s and ran the HDT from there until 1977. The workshop was home to the creation of
many iconic cars, including the Holden Torana LH SL/R 5000 L34, Holden Torana A9X, and XR GT Falcons.

In 1978, the workshop was transferred to a new location in Chetwynd Street, North Melbourne. The building in Hawthorn was sold in 2000 by lan Tate, who had taken over ownership after Firth's retirement. In 2019, developers purchased the site and plans were made to demolish the building and construct a six-story commercial/residential building.

Dominion and International Automobiles in Qld built 11 (plus 1 proyotype) of these two door Commodores.

They started life as a VH SLE 4.2 V8, DIA threw away the four doors and quarter panels and rewelded and altered the body shells to accept panels from the two door German GM Opel Rekords.

They also got Recaro seats, woodgrain trim, front and rear spoiler and ROH wheels.
All cars were black with a gold pin stripe and with Adayer embossed panel between tail lights.

They were promoted as a luxury European-style sports tourer with a price to match.

Other features included deep-pile carpet, polished woodgrain on side panels and lower dash, gold pin striping, front spoiler, rear deck spoiler, ROH wheels and a Adayer embossed panel between the tail lights. Price at the time (1984/1985) was $27,300 for a manual and $28,200 for an automatic.

They came with full ADR certification and a warranty honoured by both GM-H and the DIA Motor Company.

Village Motors Holden dealership in Redcliffe, Brisbane was the first to market what was called the ‘Adayer Sportif’.
