Getting your oil changed is one of the most important things you can do to keep your car running smoothly and prevent major engine problems. Here’s why it matters:
1. Lubricates the Engine 🛠️
Your engine has many moving parts that create heat and friction. Oil keeps these parts lubricated, preventing them from wearing out too quickly.
2. Prevents Overheating 🔥
Fresh oil helps regulate engine temperature by reducing friction and absorbing heat. Old, dirty oil loses this ability, increasing the risk of overheating.
3. Removes Dirt & Sludge 🏗️
Over time, oil collects dirt, debris, and sludge, which can clog your engine and make it run less efficiently. Regular oil changes help keep your engine clean and efficient.
4. Improves Fuel Efficiency ⛽
Dirty oil makes your engine work harder, using more fuel. Keeping your oil fresh can help improve your car’s miles per litre and save you money.
5. Extends Your Engine’s Life 🚗
Routine oil changes prevent major engine damage. Neglecting oil changes can lead to engine failure, which is expensive to repair!
How Often Should You Change Your Oil?
🔹 Check your car’s manual, but a general rule is:
✅ Every 5,000–10,000 km (depending on your car & oil type)
✅ More often if you drive in extreme heat, stop-and-go traffic, or tow heavy loads
