We are looking for a 3rd Shift Dispatcher & Shift Supervisor for our 24/7/365 towing and truck repair and towing company

This job is in-shop and is NOT a remote position.

The hours of the 3rd shift position are 11pm-7am Sunday through Thursday
(weekly shift begins 11pm Sunday into Monday; weekly shift ends 7am Friday)

We are also looking for Weekend Dispatchers-12 hour shift

We are an established but fast growing, 24/7 family-owned truck repair and towing company.

Absolute, non-negotiable requirement: We require the person to live within 30 minutes of our location in Lockport/Romeoville.

We are not looking for just a 'body' to sit and answer phones, We are looking for the 'right' person who is going to make a home here and fit in. This is a family, and we don't want just anyone sitting down for dinner with us. (in some cases; literally)

About us: Maurer is a well-established, family-owned towing, heavy haul and truck repair company. We have about 30 employees. We handle appx 150 jobs per week, and have around 20 core customers of our approximate 300 customer base. We are looking for someone who will take “ownership” of this position and take an active role as the company continues to grow.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Answering phones
- Dispatching/Logistics
- Communicating with technicians as to their job assignments, throughout the duration to ensure successful completion of the call.
- Communication with our customers relevant to in-progress, past or scheduling future jobs.
- Organization - MUST be organized, there are a lot of moving parts to this position.

Qualifications of our ideal candidate:
- Likes to SMILE and possesses excellent customer service skills as this is a customer service position as well. Smiles are contagious, can be heard through the phone and may just make someone's off day a little brighter.
- Is a spunky GO-GETTER with a POSITIVE, CAN-DO attitude with a great sense of humor and an easy going personality...there are some crazy busy times.
- MUST HAVE excellent listening comprehension and communication skills. If you do not like people, this is NOT THE JOB FOR YOU.
- MUST BE EXTREMELY organized and possesses attention to detail. There are a lot of moving parts to this position.

- Must be able to multi-task....with a smile.

- Possess decent computer skills and be able to type at a reasonable pace.

- The ideal candidate has experience with a family-owned company but not required.

Requirements:

The Maurer Services family has, with heavy duty hearts, lost one of the most pivotal people in our company history. Phil Fahlbusch passed away suddenly on Saturday December 11th.

Phil's electric personality was as loud and pervasive as the humming diesel engines on the big wreckers that he would rescue 18-wheelers with.

With his permanent hat, salt and pepper beard and fast talking ways, he was affectionately known as Phil Billy. Phil wholeheartedly accepted being the joke bearing pinata and was equally embraced by his Maurer brothers and sisters as the Maurer Services Madman who would get the job done with resounding all night stamina whether confronted with a mounting foot or feet of snow, gale force winds, black ice, mud, scorching heat, flooding or cicadas. Phil would winch and rescue trucks and their drivers who were in peril or who had simply used the wrong protractor and ruler on an underpass before it sardine canned.

He always brought a certain vitality. That vitality as a coworker, wrecker driver and friend will be deeply and inescapably missed, if a tow is needed to the pearly gates, Phil is your guy.

Rest in God's peace and glory Phil.

Right now, we are in need of an entry-level/ apprentice diesel mechanic & light duty tow truck driver. This is a position for someone to start out and move their way up to full mechanic and/ or heavy wrecker driver. We are looking to train the right person to operate our Flatbed.
This position will also include being a parts runner.

We will be looking primarily for someone who is a ‘good fit’ and who wants to learn and doesn’t mind working their way up from the bottom. We will be narrowing the field based on any reliant related experience the candidate has. (I.e. training, previous experience, etc…)

We are looking for a Light-duty Flatbed tow truck operator, Parts runner, and an entry level apprentice/beginner level Diesel Mechanic for both in-shop, and road calls. No Experience Necessary.

We are expanding our light-duty towing division and we are looking for the next great member of our team. We offer Training to the operator.

We are primarily a heavy-duty towing, truck repair, and road service company, and we are looking for someone we can 'groom' and train to be a diesel mechanic and/or heavy-duty wrecker operator and move up.

During your apprenticeship, you will:

-learn light-duty towing (Let me be more blunt: this is your primary job as you move up, and when you are not towing, you will be doing some grunt work)

- Run for parts

- help with jobs in the shop and basic road service.

Long term plan: as you become more proficient in the 'heavy-duty' aspects of your job, you will move up in pay and job status and we will hire a new 'light-duty operator/apprentice'

All levels of experience are welcome to apply.
