NCSHP troopers will be out in full force this holiday weekend to monitor driver behavior in an attempt to reduce collisions that occur from high speeds, distracted driving, lack of seat belt use and impaired driving.

The NC Wildlife Resources Commission will also take to the waterways throughout North Carolina to ensure the same level of safety and prevention.

In an attempt to discourage impaired driving on both roadways and waterways, the NCSHP has once again teamed up with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission to participate in the annual "On the Road, On the Water, Don't Drink and Drive" campaign. The campaign will be conducted throughout this weekend with an intense focus on removing impaired motorists who are operating boats and motor vehicles.

In anticipation of higher traffic volumes this weekend, you are urged to plan ahead for your trip. Please visit www.DriveNC.gov for up-to-date information on road closures and delays.
