25 hours. 110 degree heat. 1,095 miles on an EV conversion Datsun 620 at the 24 Hours of Lemons.
That is a new record, and this truck earned every mile of it.
We caught up with the team hot off the track at Thunder Hill and walked around the whole build. The swappable battery system that had other teams stopping by the pits to stare. Three separate cooling loops that never threw a single warning light across the entire race. Custom aero they designed, 3D scanned, and built themselves. And a motor that just kept pulling lap after lap in conditions that had no business being survived.
This is what grassroots EV racing looks like right now. And the team is already talking about what it takes to go from record holder to C-class winner.
