More things you can forage in October but each year is different on what or how much you may find. Last year there were tons of persimmons but pretty much none this year. Honey locust beans, shaggy mane and other mushrooms, like meadow mushroom and giant puffballs, turkey tails and reishi mushrooms but always verify before you eat any. Several types of amaranth and lambs-quarter that has gone to seed but you can use for grain or to save to cultivate and eat the baby greens. Ramble Farms

For anyone that loves tropical and unusual jams, I’ll have a small batch (only 12) of pawpaw silverberry jam available. This one tastes like banana, strawberry, mango all in one but made with native pawpaw and the invasive silverberries.
