Club Rules for Carpet Racing and Drag Racing
4-Tec Rules
No tire compounds are to be used on our carpet! The chassis or car we all will be racing is the Traxxas 4-Tec 2.0. It’s a 4wd electric touring car with a brushed motor. Plenty fast for the courses CVRC will be offering. The battery is limited to a 2S 6000mah or smaller capacity Lipo battery. Must be a standard sized pack. The motor and e
lectronic speed control (esc must remain factory. You are allowed to tune the car with shock oils, differential setups, spring rates and transmission gearing to suit your preferences though. You are also allowed to install the Traxxas Sway Bar kit. Motor must remain factory! You cannot adjust the timing of the motor! Tires must remain a Traxxas product for outdoor racing. Actual wheels (rims) you may change. For indoor racing we are using Xceed or Gone Bananas Foam tires. These are actually cheaper than factory and offer much more traction on the carpet we race indoors on. I highly recommend foams over rubber tires. You may not modify the chassis to be lighter than the factory setup. Examples but not limited to, dremeling holes in it. Changing turnbuckles to titanium or aluminum. Carbon fiber chassis or hop-ups. Our goal is a factory car. Keep it simple. Anything that is a realistic, production car, purchasable car is on the table. Both 190mm and 200mm bodies supposedly fit the 4-Tec 2.0 well. (200mm is what I’ve seen work best) Porsche 911, Ferrari 458, Corvette C6, you do you! Just no “wedge” bodies that are associated with 1/8th racing please. Wheel hexes can be changed to allow the wheels to fit the body better. 190mm work well with the Xceed foam tires. Bearings and shocks must remain factory besides actual oils and springs. Bearings must be stock, no tampering with seals! We allow one aluminum hop-up, and it’s to replace the stock caster block or c-hub. Stock part number 8332. This is a durability upgrade and should keep us from dropping dog bones while racing. Steel axle cups are also allowed. Only really needed upfront. CVDs are not allowed. We have a community tab here on this page. It’s a good place to look for tuning tips or other information that pertains to these cars. Please check that out! Rules are subject to change. In the future, with enough feedback from our racers we may open up the class into an unlimited class using the same chassis but with more hop-ups. But we will discuss that when the time comes. Overall, our goal is to have fun and not break the bank. SLASH RULES:
We will be racing 1/10 scale Traxxas 2wd Slashes. Our goal is a fun simple class similar to our 4-Tec class. You can run either the stock chassis or the Traxxas LCG chassis. You MUST run stock Traxxas Slash tires of some sort. I know they offer a few different kinds. Nothing aftermarket. Please clean them before coming to the track! Shock springs and oils can be changed to your liking. You may run upgraded shocks. No aluminum parts. Stock or RPM upgrades only. Transmission must use the stock differential. Any off road truck body. Aftermarket bodies welcome. Make it your own! It must be an off road vehicle. Servo can be upgraded to your liking. You must run the stock brushed Traxxas 12t motor and XL5 esc. You may change the gearing. You can run your choice of batteries. 2S 6000mah or less. This allows you to run the same battery we run with our 4-Tec class if you’d like. Must be a standard pack size. Nothing undersized. Rules may change if we see the need to do so.
