Dad’s Garage Just a Dad & his homies, fixing vehicles for reasonable rates, and spreading education in the process

Hey everyone, mama Dani here just wanting to let you all know that today we won’t be answering calls, messages, or be at the shop. It’s George and I’s first wedding anniversary so we are going to try to spend some time together away from anything vehicle related (lol). Anything that is sent between today and tomorrow will be followed up with on Monday.

In addition all future Saturday requests will be by appointment only and will be based upon the services needed due to the shorter hours to allow for a more set schedule. We appreciate the understanding and if there is anyone that needs auto work, now including tires, just call dad! 🤙🏻

I can weld a lot of things, but this definitely isn’t one of them 😅

08 Buick Lacrosse, was in for front control arms, and stabilizer links, after we finished the drivers side I moved around to start the passenger side, when I noticed a huge crack in the steering knuckle right along where the outer tie rod connects to it.

I stopped immediately, told Dani to which she sourced a replacement knuckle, and called to give the bad news to the customer about what we found 😬

Thankfully the customer approved the repair, and the replacement knuckle showed up this morning 😎

Man talk about a great first day, we all worked hard together, and knocked out a ton of work

Austin knocked out an oil change and 4 TPMS sensors right on of the gate, he moved on to a complex diagnosis of an 05 F-150 where he found several sensors unplugged and a lot of routine maintenance items that it needed, and then after lunch he knocked out pads and rotors on a 17 Yukon that I found earlier in the morning to be metal on metal, and finished up the day with another oil change

Meet Kenny Peterson, the newest member of our team, Kenny comes from an automotive background, and recently came to us from another local repair shop
I hit him hard this morning with an AC compressor replacement, and a water pump/stat replacement on an 08 Caliber, where he found an inspection port on the side of the old one definitely a first for all of us 😅
And then after lunch he set up our new tire balancer that was delivered today

I had an Oil Change and brake diagnostic on that 17 Yukon first thing, then a rattling noise and coolant least diagnostic on a 2012 Chevy Sonic that had been in an accident which ended up being a bad water pump, but I found a whole list of things that needed attention. Followed by a Jonesburg City police cruiser that had stopped by so we could get his tire size to order a set of to keep in stock, when we noticed a bulge in his sidewall, so since he had a full size spare, we swapped it for him really quick to keep the safest rubber on the road, while we order another one for it
Then I had gotten a call from guy who owns a local welding company, who had accidentally ran over something in his welding rig, and lost brakes.
Dani was able to source a rear brake hose and have it delivered to us, to install, bleed, and perform an ABS bleed, so he’d have that truck safely on the road tomorrow morning!!
And then was a 14 equinox with an exhaust leak that i was able to weld a patch for, and swap a dead tire sensor for him!!!

And last but certainly not least, Dani worked her ass off cooking breakfast for all of us, building quotes, invoicing customers, caring for customers, ordering parts, and just downright keeping the whole operation running smoothly!!

I’m proud of all of us, I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!!!

Just Call Dad!! 🤙🏻😎

Here’s a cool one we did last night!

1965 Ford Mustang 200 straight 6
When working on the exhaust a few weeks ago we noticed that the carb was leaking fuel pretty bad (like turning it on its side fuel poured out of the bowl) and it had an exhaust manifold gasket leak. This one was extra special because it was this customers first car

We ordered a carb kit, rebuilt and cleaned it right here on the bench, and set her up with a Fel-Pro exhaust manifold gasket, and this this old pony car ran like it was new!
Even this morning it fired on the first crank!!

Just Call Dad!! 🤘🏻
