A few months ago one of my clients told me he really wanted to find “a good ‘43 Harley Knucklehead - preferably something sweaty with patina that can be ridden.”
I told him “no problem”.
Although, there was a slight problem with that proposition: 1943 is by far the lowest production year for the Knucklehead.
Because of limitations for the war, HD only produced about 200 Knucklehead motorcycles for 1943 across all 3 models: E, EL, and F.
In the realm of Knucklehead collecting - this is essentially a holy grail.
There are estimated to be less than 20 real 1943’s left in the world… but through sheer luck and connections I stumbled into one of the best unrestored ones remaining… and it was for sale!
After lots of back and forth (and a few days of driving) I was able to finish the deal and bring this bike to its forever home. This bike was lovingly owned, rebuilt, and ridden in its previous life, and it will certainly be ridden in its next life too.

In 1920, the patriarch of the Heemskerk family imported this brand new 1920 Reading Standard motorcycle into the Netherlands as a personal trophy to sit on display for its entire life.. and that is the life it lived! This bike has never had fuel in the tank; It has never been ridden… It is a brand new, NOS condition 106 year-old motorcycle. I was presented this bike for sale last year from the original owner’s family, and I convinced a good friend and client to buy it so I could ensure it would be well taken care of for the next century to come. With this bike we received the original Reading Standard Dealer Agent canvas banner, original rider’s brochure, and original Dutch import documents & sales invoice with VIN and frame number included.

This bike survived multiple economic depressions and a siege during WW2. It is a miracle these old machines survive as well as they do, but this example is an extra special case.

After a couple days of work, this bike has been thoroughly cleaned, detailed, and fitted with a perfect pair of original NOS Firestone Non Skid tires. Some further cleaning and preservation work will be done in the future, but for now I’m very happy with how this bike is looking!

There are some really amazing details on this unused motorcycle that I think may change what is considered “correct” on restored Reading Standards going forward. Some of those odd details include spokes painted on the rim after truing, a painted rear sprocket, and “two-tone” cylinders [nickel plated lower barrel, high heat black paint on the fins].

We are currently searching for an NOS pair of handlebar grips to help complete this bike. If you have some let me know!

This beautiful motorcycle is currently on display at Wheels Through Time museum in Maggie Valley, NC. Keep an eye out as it will be featured on the WTT YouTube channel very soon!

I am very proud to present the finished film of the entire preservation process on this 1911 Flying Merkel Twin motorcycle. I completed this project a while ago, but I recently made the time to finish the video and upload it. I have a lot more time for YouTube now, so there will be many more videos coming out like this very soon!

At the end of 2025 I finished one of my greatest projects to date. Immediately after, I picked up my entire life and moved halfway across the USA & didn’t have much time to do or talk about anything else. Now that I’ve settled into my new home, I’d like to share my most recent completion.
This 1920 Harley Davidson is one of the finest original paint examples of its kind in the world. Hundreds of hours of paint conservation, mechanical rebuilding, and reassembly were required to bring this machine back to life. This is some of my best work to date, and I’m very proud to share it!

This bike spent most of its life in Sweden, and was brought back to the US less than 5 years ago. Thankfully, it was very complete when I started on it. This is the fastest full preservation job I’ve ever done - only taking about 5 months in total. I hope I never have to finish a project of that scale that quickly ever again, but I’m glad to know I can if I need to! 😂

This is definitely my favorite bike I’ve owned so far, but I’m very excited to share some extra special machines later this year 🙌

This 1942 Harley Davison EL Knucklehead is a rare find - 1942 and 1943 showed some of the lowest production numbers for knuckleheads throughout their entire production lineup from 1936-1947. This bike looks to have been restored or repainted a number of years ago, but still retains many original parts and pieces. The engine is showing a beautiful original VIN number and original matching belly numbers on the cases - a very important detail on any knucklehead!

This machine kicks over with good compression and appears like it was running not too long ago. I believe just a little TLC would make a running and riding machine without too much work!

This meticulously restored 1946 Harley-Davidson EL was the last restoration by noted expert Craig Clack. It has only testing miles since restoration, and it is one of the finest examples of a 1946 Knucklehead as you’ll find. It’s a correct restoration using hard-to-find, correct OEM parts, including plenty of postwar trim pieces; all chrome pieces were re-chromed, and all pieces originally cadmium-plated had a new layer applied. The engine has matching belly numbers, so if you’re looking for an excellent Knucklehead, this might just be the one.

This 1945 Harley Davidson FL Knucklehead is one of the rarest, and hardest to find Knuckleheads in the entire 12 year line up of that model. Production in 1945 was heavily limited due to WW2, and only a fraction of these bikes made it into civilian hands.

This 45 FL appears to have been restored a number of years ago. The bike was just pulled out of storage so it's a bit dusty, but underneath the dust appears to be a very nice good quality paint job! This machine will clean up extremely well.

This 1910 Harley Davidson is not like any other you will find... This is the only known original magneto-ignition 1910 in the world. As Harley Davidson’s top of the line motorcycle for 1910, only 300 of these magneto-equipped machines were produced; making it an extraordinary piece of motorcycling history. A number of distinct features set it apart from the more common battery-ignition variant including the Bosch "open" magneto, the magneto-drive gear chest & cover with correct internal part numbers, a frame with the proper castings unique to the magneto model, and a 1910-only magneto model toolbox. The motor is numbers matching - confirming its authenticity and originality. While a few replicas and copies exist, this is the only genuine, unrestored example of this model known today. Apart from a few small replacement parts, nearly every part on this motorcycle is original equipment—right down to its original leather belt—offering an unmatched opportunity for museums, collectors, or enthusiasts seeking one of Harley-Davidson’s rarest and most significant early machines. There were no twin-cylinder Harley's made in 1910 - this is as good as you can possibly get for that year!
