Yeah, I'm particular.

I wanted to do a side by side comparison of the OEM RSX thermostat cover and my version with the K24 bolt pattern.

It evolved.

The pictures were stolen from IG and I photoshoped the background out... but they looked like S**T. So, I naturally threw more time at it. In the end, I was able to create an actual overlay of the two.

Now it can be added to the website with pride.

Shout out to everyone that thought the thermostat housing was welded to the water pipe. Bless your hearts. πŸ’•

I'm not throwing shade at anyone... I just choose these pictures because they are simple and help explain a point I'd like to make for the general good of the community.

I have had consumers (not customers) swing by (physically) or send pictures of a random job they wanted welded/ finished that ultimately did not like my "time + materials" response. Eventually being pressured into some kind of a number... I respond with my shop labor rate and my minimum. If they don't like either of those responses, they can kick rocks!

I have NEVER had a true "just weld it" job and that's because I'm NOT the "just weld it" guy. The chances are... you have a welder closer to you than me, but you choose to reach out to me for a reason. Maybe you like what you see and you know you're gonna get good work back.

Well I cant/ wont put the cart in front of the horse. I do things one way... the best I can. So if I get hung up on a detail that make what you brought "better" I will do it and you will pay for it. Its my name and your experience on the line.

πŸ“Έ1 the tube the customer sent in - just weld it.
πŸ“Έ2 cutting the tube cleanly (can be dangerous when short).
πŸ“Έ what is being welded to the tube.
πŸ“Έ4 a flare added to the tube because it didn't fit the fitting and then prepped.
πŸ“Έ5 the fit up.

Now I can "just weld it". Be nice to your local fabricator/ welder. 🍻

I find it interesting that the bleed on the right was replaced by the one on the left. It was removed from the website entirely and customers specifically asked for it, so I added the option back to the site.

Sales are split 50/50. I never would have guessed it.

You ever try putting a pipe plug in a hole while an engine is running and water it pushing out? And not loosing the plug?

I'm rarely given the creative control over a project. Most of my business consists of making the cookie cutter products listed on my website... and on occasion a customer will ask for some small revision to those.

The rest of the time, customers ask about custom but never follow through, for what I believe to be a lack of vision, understanding, trust, or some combination of those.

Whitfield Company trusted me and gave me an opportunity to do something I had talked about with multiple customers.

A swirl pot that works with a scatter shield.

Jason and Seth don't need a scatter shield so this example sits even with the deck but you can see that the room to move the base upwards and still have room to have the outlet (positions 7, 8, 9 oclock) is there as a result of the more difficult fl**ge to cylinder connection.

You can see how close the inlet and outlet are with the cylinder spaced up from the table, which means the bottom of my original design would sit bellow the deck.

This new design is now on the website and is available with a radiator cap b**g if you don't plan to run a header tank like they are.

Thank you for taking the time to read all this. 🍻

It was brought to my attention (this past Monday) that the H22 Water Pipe Delete does not fit the same on all H22 blocks. Shockingly, there must be casting variation.

If you are interested in using this product I recommend you have access to a lathe and the ability to use it or willingness to pay someone to remove material to make it flush and then remove the same amount of material from the o-ring seat.

If you have an accurate way of articulating this measurement in .000", I am happy to do this at no charge. You pay the shipping to me and I'll even pay the ship back. Once. Get it wrong and you'll have to pay me or someone else to try again.

I have sold multiple kits without negative feedback so at this point I am under the impression that this a low probability.
