Ozark Speed Co We build badass classic cars with attitude—restos, customs, and street machines meant to be driven, not dusted. Ozark Speed Co. LLC. Where speed meets soul.

Born in the Ozarks, built in the garage, and made for the road.

When it comes to reducing body roll, improving ride quality, and making a classic car more comfortable and enjoyable to drive, there’s one company we consistently recommend to our customers: QA1.

I’ll be honest. I never imagined I’d have the opportunity to build a relationship with a company as respected as QA1. Their reputation in the circle track, street performance, and hot rod worlds speaks for itself.

But what means even more to me is how they’ve treated us. They’ve welcomed Ozark Speed Co like family, and I couldn’t be more proud to work alongside a company that stands behind its products and the people who use them.

So when this customer brought us his car looking for better handling, improved comfort, and a more enjoyable driving experience, the decision was pretty simple. We went straight to QA1.

And HOLY COW, what a difference!

This is why we recommend the products we do. Not because of a fancy logo or a sponsorship, but because we believe in what we’re putting on our customers’ cars.

A classic car should be more than something pretty to look at. It should be something you can’t wait to get behind the wheel of!

Thank you to the folks at QA1 for building products that deliver and for treating our little shop like we’re part of the family.

Built to drive. Built to enjoy. Built by Ozark Speed Co. 🇺🇸

Ever wonder what’s actually under the hood of a piece of TV history? We had to check it out in Branson.

Oh, the saga continues…

So the truck style water pump was getting a little too personal with the radiator. Apparently, personal space isn’t a thing in the automotive world.

No big deal, right? Let’s just throw another $185 at it and swap to a smaller Corvette style water pump. Problem solved!

Well, that was a fantastic idea right up until we broke the FU***NG water pump bolts off in the block.

So instead of making progress, it looks like we’re performing surgery in the morning to extract what’s left of the bolts.

This project was going so smooth… until it wasn’t.

And THAT, ladies and gentlemen, is why working on cars is so much fun. You can be having the best day of your life, making great progress, and then one rusty little bastard of a bolt decides you haven’t suffered enough.

We’ll be back at it tomorrow. 😂🔧

The Ford 312 Y Block is officially torn down!

We found a few surprises along the way. Both cylinder heads show signs of previous repairs, so we’re crossing our fingers that they’re still salvageable.

The good news? All the mating surfaces look surprisingly clean. The bad news? This engine came to us mixing oil and coolant, and so far, we haven’t found an obvious explanation.

Next stop is A1 Automotive Machine, where Kyle and his crew will give everything a thorough inspection and check for cracks, particularly in the lifter valley, an area these old Y Blocks are known to have issues with.

We’re hoping for the best, but we’re not throwing parts and money at an engine until we know exactly what we’re dealing with.

That’s the fun of working on these old classics. Sometimes you’re rebuilding an engine, and sometimes you’re conducting a 70-year-old crime scene investigation. 😂

Stay tuned! We’ll let you know what Kyle finds!

Dumps like a truck? We wish! 😂

We’ve got a motor we don’t usually see in the shop going into something we don’t usually work on.

Is it outside our normal wheelhouse? Yep.

Are we doing it anyway? Also yep.

Here goes nothing! 😂🔧
