It is with tremendous sadness that we share the passing of Richard "Richie" Potvin after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

Richie started working at Ed’s in 1994. Throughout the years, we've shared so many memories, laughs and milestones together. We are incredibly grateful for the decades he spent with us and miss him and his friendship terribly.

For over 30 years, he drove countless miles, delivering oil to thousands of customers — many of whom became lifelong friends along the way. At nearly every stop, someone would be waiting with a quick story, a cup of coffee and a smile when they saw him pull into the driveway, always in his signature shades.

Richie took pride in everything he did. He was dependable, kind and had one heck of a sense of humor. He was always ready with a witty joke and his infectious laugh could brighten even the most difficult of days.

Above all else, Richie was a proud and loving father, grandfather, companion, brother and friend. Our hearts are with Anissa and all of his family and loved ones.

We love you, Richie. Rest in peace, dear friend. 🕊️ 💙

Richie's service will be held this Wednesday, May 13th from 11-12 at Dougherty Brother's in Plainfield.

As the heating season comes to a close, we want to give a huge shoutout to our incredible team - Brad, Corky, Damien, Fred, Justin, Larry & Ted - for going above and beyond this winter! ⭐They worked long hours, braved frigid temperatures and pulled hoses through feet of snow to keep our customers warm.
