People seem to be impressed with how nice my cars are even though they aren't super special or modified heavily. I think the reason is because I pay attention to small details that make an impact, even if it's subconscious to the observer.

Case in point...the aftermarket stereo bezel in Metal Sonic. I could have just used a kit and slid the stereo in and called it a day. Instead I...

Sanded the texture off the install kit and painted it along with the bezel so they would match perfectly.

Removed the power port and installed a flush USB port directly to the stereo bezel and combined it with a low profile USB cable just long enough to reach my phone sitting in the phone holder that was made specifically for this generation Focus.

These aren't huge items. Most people wouldn't even think about them, but when you try to integrate elements so they seem thought out and not just slapped together, people notice.

The best part? All that extra work cost maybe $50 to do and it looks so much better.

It's similar with my wheels. Yes, custom powdercoated wheels, but also matching red logos on the wheels to go with the red calipers and also painting the rotor hats so they don't look all dirty and nasty behind clean wheels.

People see the car and think "it looks good" and not be able to pinpoint why. Those small things are seen but maybe not specifically noticed.

That's how I think about most things on my cars. Don't forget the small things that make a big difference. They might not even take much more time or money to do, but many people skip those things, and that helps yours stand out...
