ZUNI SNAKE EYES is a masterful lapidary style originally developed by Zuni Pueblo artists around the 1930s and 1940s. It's one of the most incredibly labor-intensive and meticulous techniques in Native American jewelry making.

In Southwestern cosmology, the serpent is a powerful symbol of water, transformation, guardianship and life. Because the tiny, round stones in the "snake eyes" pattern look like a serpent's watchful eyes, the design is traditionally viewed as a symbol of protection, awareness and maintaining balance.

Well HELLO beautiful! This Vintage HOPI STERLiNG OVERLAY KaCHiNa PENDANT has Nice deep cuts and a stylized modern design. It's unsigned but the unusual tiny feathery design on the bottom that looks like tiny combs, can be seen in the work of Sparks Masawytewa. It's in great condition and has a generous bale on the back. It's 2-1/8" and would make a lovely gift for someone who loves Native American Jewelry.

This vintage ZUNI styLe Petit PoiNT CroSS NECKLACE is a great pretender! Turquoise plastic cabochons mimic the petit point jewelry the Zuni Indians are famous for. They're set in a silver tone metal. It's a pretty little western cross that comes on a really nice silver rolo chain. The links have a nice stamped line pattern. You'll receive the pendant and 24" chain.

This vintage STERLiNG AMBER ROSE PiN is stunning! A cognac colored piece of amber has been carved into a rosebud and set in sterling silver. It's accented with a THORNY stem and two very realistic leaves. Please check out the leaves, they're amazing! It's of course a pin but I kinda like it as a pendant.

This vintage ViCTORIAN StERLiNG SASH BUCKLE is an amazing! It's a whopping 3-1/4" long and has Delicate lacy filigree edges and faceted circles of silver that twinkle and shine. There are 3 sharp prongs that swivel back and forth on a hinge. There is also a second piece of metal on the back with 4 prongs that also swivels...perhaps to hold the material secure. It's in great condition and would look glorious on a wedding belt. Original Patina or very tarnished.

This vintage WooDen DOLL BREAD HOLDER is a kitschy little treasure made by Rainbow Wood Products. It's a mid century wooden doll painted in a folksy Scandanavian style. She's a half doll on a pedestal and has an ethnic costume painted on her body. She has a pleated skirt with pockets that'll hold bread, bisquits or tortillas! Her skirt is attached to her waist by velcro. Easily removed for cleaning.

I love learning little snippets of history. It's my favorite part of antiquing.
Yuma High School's "Criminals" mascot originates from 1910 when a fire destroyed their original building, forcing classes into the vacant Yuma Territorial Prison. After a football victory against a Phoenix team in 1913 or 1914, opposing fans taunted them as "Criminals," a label the school officially adopted with pride in 1917.

The sideline mascot is affectionately nicknamed "Curt the Crim" after a longtime teacher and coach.
