Hello everybody! I hope everyone is having an awesome weekend as we approach the end of the month. I wanted to take a moment for a pulse check for anyone following along or just curious about how things are going.
Let’s start with August as a whole. What a crazy month this has been! It has been packed full of events, from the start of the school year for all my nieces and nephews to my own semester beginning. We’ve also experienced what may be the most brutal monsoon season I’ve seen in recent years on my side of town, which caused a crazy number of reschedules for both my customers and me. To top it off, I caught a pretty nasty flu that made me move at a snail's pace last week. Overall, it has been an intense month, and I’m now playing a massive game of catch-up.
That said, the response from our little Tucson community has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s been fantastic to see the new things we’ve rolled out. Of course, it hasn’t been without its challenges, but I’m sure we’ll work out all the bugs with time.
For those who aren’t aware, as of January, I no longer have a separate shop. I’ve taken things back to how we started: operating in my own driveway doing detail work. Although having a nice enclosed shop was great, the weather-related issues haven’t had a huge impact on the business. I am back to doing mobile details, which has been very popular! There are some criteria for this service, but overall, the response has been very positive, and I hope to keep that momentum going.
I’m currently handling everything on my own: all the detail work, online posts, answering phone calls and texts, and ordering materials—it's all me. As a result, response times may vary. We have seen a surge in customers since two or three detail shops on my side of town have closed their doors, which is great for business. However, long-term customers know I prefer to handle things quickly. I’m working on solutions for this, but if I’ve missed any messages, I apologize and will get back to you as soon as I can.
I also want to emphasize that I am still a full-service provider. If you bring your car to me, I will handle everything you need, whether it’s detailing, paint protection film, tinting, bodywork, or even mechanical issues. I can manage it from start to finish if you have the budget.
To address a concern I’ve heard from a few people regarding me possibly quitting—my reduced posts on social media have nothing to do with that. To be honest, social media became quite draining after last year, especially after working with some individuals who made it less enjoyable. I spent so many hours in front of a screen when I could’ve been making cars beautiful, which is what it’s all about. I’m slowly finding the joy in it again, so please give me a little time. I’m still human, and my knees remind me of that every day! We’ll get some good photos and promotions out to you soon and strive to be better with it.
Lastly, Facebook has changed a bit. If you message me there, I can’t see my business and personal profiles at the same time like I used to. If I have my business account on my phone and you message me on my personal account, I won’t see it. I apologize if your messages got lost, but please know I’ll try to respond as quickly as possible. You can always text or call me at 520-261-0425 if you need immediate assistance.
That’s about all I wanted to share for now. If you made it this far, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I’ve been doing this since 2018, and I’m continually amazed by everything we’ve accomplished and all that is yet to come. Thanks again, and stay beautiful, Tucson!
