Same building. Different era. 🧀➡️🏍️
On the left: The legendary Cheese House of Trenton.
On the right: Central Maine Harley-Davidson Trenton.
What happened in between? Well… besides a few renovations and several decades, there was also a giant mouse.
For years, the Cheese House had a massive mouse perched on top of the building. And every year, Ellsworth High School seniors apparently decided that mouse belonged somewhere else. Namely, on top of Ellsworth High School. 🐭🎓
As local legend goes, stealing the mouse and relocating it to the school roof became an annual senior prank. Imagine being the principal and walking into work only to find a giant mouse staring down at you from above.
Thankfully, nobody has tried hauling the entire Harley-Davidson building onto the high school roof. Yet.
One thing hasn’t changed though: people still stop and talk about the building.
Honestly, that’s a pretty Maine story.
