If you’re researching a bypass oil filtration system, filter size is only one part of what you should be looking at.
A properly designed bypass oil filter needs to account for oil capacity, contamination load, filter media surface area, flow rate, restriction, and the engine it’s being installed on.
A 3.0L Duramax does not have the same filtration requirements as a CAT C7, CAT C15, or Cummins X15.
That’s why bypass filtration shouldn’t be one-size-fits-all.
Before choosing a bypass oil filter, look at how the system is actually engineered for your engine—not just the micron rating or the name on the housing.
