Spindle Blueprinting! This year we have been busy building front ends. As people come through the shop, they'll often ask what's that machine doing? We reply "it is perfectly matching the spindle dog bone, offset camber bushings, and link pin carrier housings together". The tool looks straight up in the video but it holds the spindle at the exact angle that the FV link pins have to achieve negative camber allowing perfect alignment with no front end bind. The other photos show the common areas of misalignment even with new or rebuilt parts! While you are there,you should also check your spindles for bends or cracks. If you need new king pins, offset bushings, or your new parts matched together give us a call!

As we reflect on the past year we are humbled and grateful for our most successful season ever. More wins and podiums than ever before. More of our drivers winning different races than ever before. Sweeping the NEFV championship and winning the National championship in the same year! If you have visited our shop you know we have a lot of trophies, but winning the Runoffs is the epitome of all that we work for. We are grateful for our supporters who helped us get there.... Autowerks Engines, Hoosier Tire, and most importantly the guys in the shop who work tirelessly to make everything happen. Now back to the grind, the new season is right around the corner!

Unbelievable.....the NEFV championship fight is over and 3 cars and awesome drivers out of our stable have swept the top 3 championship spots! Truly unbelievable and we couldn't be prouder to celebrate these drivers'successes. Chase has been the class of the field all year, Chris had his game face back on,, and Alex was the "most improved driver" last year and now he is the Championship podium!
Who else are we proud of? Our own men in black who work tirelessly all year to produce high quality racecars and even higher quality at track support service....... Dillon, Nick, Gregg, and Dave Carr / Autowerks Engines, you are the best!
While we are humbled by the way the racing gods have treated us this year, today we start TODAY our pursuit of making the cars better for next year;

We had a strong showing at NHMS this weekend, but as racing goes it wasn't without highs and lows..... The lows? Rain caused some chaos and we took on damage to 4 out of 5 cars. The highs? Our amazing crew stepped up and worked relentlessly to pick up the pieces to glue these cars back together. Super highs? After all the struggles our amazing drivers swept the podium! Anton got the win, Chris was 2nd and was also on the pole in this 25 car field, while Chase put on a real show on driving slicks in the rain. We also had a new driver complete the open wheel driving experience, and topped it off by performing an exorcism on one of the cars that had some hidden demons in it. That was a busy weekend!

Alexander Smith had no real racing experience when he came to us just a couple of years ago. We told him to "trust the process" referring to our driver development program..... Last year he won NEFVs most improved driver, last weekend he got his first Win against another one of our alumni favorites, which was no easy task. While we have to do a better job of posting the amazing success our drivers have had this year, we had to share that working hard and doing your homework can really pay off as a true success story. Now we have a couple of days until we are on the road again, so we have to get back to work, but we hope to do a mid season recap soon!

What's going on in the shop? It's brake upgrade season...... We are making 2 and 4 wheel disc brake kits TO GO so there is a lot of metal chips flying in our machine shop this week, as well as a lot of precision measuring going on. Our FedEx guy loves to visit the shop, but probably hates these kind of weeks as we fill his truck with brake boxes.

What's going on in the shop? 1968 Vintage Zink on the frame jig. Unfortunately this Zink got bit by a wall and bent alot of parts on the way. If you look at the shift linkage you'll notice it facing the sky, not towards the back of the car as it should. (Just a snippet of the damage). When you are frame straightening a 50 year car, the approach is finesse over force, we are definitely finnesing this classic back together again.

We been getting a lot of "what's going on in the shop" questions..... So we decided to randomly post some of the many projects going in the shop, both big and small. Here we are installing our FV Front disc brake kit on a Citation. Rear bakes will remain drums. We install what we sell, and our front disc/ rear drum setup is our most popular brake kit.
