It’s hard to get enough + so here we go.

On the there are a number of hoses under and behind the plenum. One of the more important sets is for the idle air control. Shown here is our maintenance kit for the , next page is our kit for the .

The B38 idle air control is quite elegant compared to the B36 and B35 and the precursor to the systems found on the and .

Staying focused on the intake side we have a ///M for the intake plenum of the S38B36 + B38. Easy to replace and in stock for your M5.

Having six independent throttles is great for response! Doesn’t matter at all if your cable isn’t properly mounted. Our throttle cable bushings are v***r honed and then anodized to MIL-A-8625 Type III black before being paired with a bowed stainless steel snap ring to take up even the tolerance in your original BMW bracket. This is one area where the tighter the better.

Throttles are only as good as their adjustment. To set the mechanical adjustment of the M88 + S38 throttles you need to measure the throttle blade position. We’ve made this simple with our dial indicator mount that mounts to the throttle bodies and allows you to mount a 3/8” stem dial indicator. Perfect complement to the .

Continuing with our focus on the + powered cars from yesterday!

First up is our crank case ventilation maintenance kit for the . This setup uses the readily available crank case ventilation hose (valve cover to oil separator). This is possible by creating space with a larger diameter but shorter billet aluminum vacuum reservoir. This maintains vacuum capacity for the variable resonance and secondary air injection system. It also increases durability with superior materials vs the stock plastic unit. Kit also includes Norma stainless steel hose clamps, Genuine BMW hoses, mounts and o-ring. A long term solution.

With the and its variable resonance intake plenum and secondary air injection system it’s important to keep the vacuum system in top shape for peak performance and emissions compliance. Any vacuum leaks can cause issues.

To solve this we offer vacuum system maintenance kits for the B36 and B38. Kits include upgraded soft vacuum lines to the more modern OEM braided line, Genuine BMW line mount clips, upgraded material hard lines to replace OE that tend to become brittle with age and heat, abrasion protection for the soft lines as BMW intended, new OEM (Pierburg) check valve, Genuine BMW reservoir or our billet aluminum unit, and we replace the original plastic “L” and “T” joints with stainless steel. Oh and we include all new Genuine BMW caps for the throttle vacuum sampling ports.

Staying with the E34 the tensioner bracket for the secondary air injection pump which also happens to tension the AC compressor is now no longer available from BMW. Typically the teeth are worn out or missing, we’ve solved this to keep you cool. You’re welcome.

Sometimes your race car needs air conditioning but you need to shed the mass of the secondary air injection pump. Or maybe the pump just won’t work with your new headers. For that we’ve developed an AC tensioner assembly that replaces the secondary air injection pump and allows you to tension the AC compressor drive belt. FOR RACE ONLY.

Focusing on the + powered cars. We offer complete solutions to build your dream or just to keep it running.

Up first our low profile engine mount arm providing clearance for headers on the or for your turbo system. Also works on the M30 powered 535i.

The idle air control maintenance kit consists of hoses, mount and Norma stainless steel hose clamps that provide long term performance and elimantes the guess work to maintain your or .

One of our first products was a replacement for the no longer available variable resonance actuator for the S38B36 + B38 and it’s still one of our best sellers. No need for a core and assembled in the U.S. from BMWs OE supplier and Angry Ass manufactured parts.

Not only do we build parts for the M88 + S38 we also develop and produce the tools needed to keep them operating in peak condition. Our further development with Dean Caccavo of his is a great example. Allowing for the balancing of all of the throttles on the M88, S38, S50 + S14 engines.

Making sure these engines can perform at their peak by using more modern sensors is another area we’re focused on. Our throttle position sensor adapter for the later potentiometer style (M50/S50) sensor allows for much easier integration of standalone ECUs.

As part of our effort with on his powered we have developed a set of gasket plates to replace the OEM bonded rubber units. These use readily available and cost effective o-rings for sealing which makes service cost competitive compared to OEM.

Shown on our development and with a mockup of our carbon composite intake manifolds.

While the OEM gasket plates were designed to seal as well as decouple the intake manifolds for reduced noise, vibration and harshness we feel that for most owners a slight increase in NVH is worth it for improved sealing.

Carbon composite manifolds fit well with the OEM as well for a nice fitment verification.

Last we have the 3D printed mockup of the carbon composite intake manifold injector fl**ge on the new seal plate.

We are currently testing the seal plates and looking to release in August for sale. Get in touch if you have any questions!

We’re updating powered with a high performance radiator along with other cooling system components. But first we have to drain the coolant and remove the old bits.

To start we used our Angry Ass | Fan Clutch and Tensioner Combination Wrench 32/19 along with the Angry Ass | Water Pump Holding Wrench to remove the viscous fan.

We used a small screwdriver to remove the fan shroud rivets as well so the fan and shroud come out together. If you get thirsty the 32/19 combination wrench has a bottle opener . . .

With the fan and shroud out of the way we disconnected the hoses from the radiator.

Next we removed the radiator mounting clamps.

We will be offering a kit that includes all mounting parts needed for installing a new radiator without having to hunt down every part. Be sure to check back!

Before removing the radiator we removed the upper seal.

With the old radiator out it’s time to install the new parts!
