Last night was truly magical — you had to be there to experience it. We knew this car meet would be big, but nothing prepared us for what happened. Smiles, toasts, and real camaraderie filled the lot as the car community came together: imports, classics, hot rods, muscle cars, trucks, jeeps, and motorcycles all mingling.
We haven’t seen this level of interaction in a long time. The vibes were unreal as everyone gathered to say goodbye to a local landmark that’s been part of the scene for years. Calling it a “packed house” is an understatement — thank you to everyone who came out. The Tampa scene showed the world what we’re about.

Now the tough part. We warned this would be huge and tried to prepare everyone in advanced, but we still had to turn away at least 50+ cars. Even with creative double-parking and using curves, we ran out of space. I’m sorry to those we turned away, and we also apologize to VIP ticket holders who arrived late — I had to reassign spots to keep the line moving and avoid a shutdown on the main road. We made the call I felt necessary for the event at the time; we understand if some of you are upset and choose not to come to future events and understand you are frustrated. Please reach out in a PM and we will try to make it right somehow.

Around 8 p.m. a nasty storm hit with heavy rain and high winds. Some vendor tents and merchandise were damaged. Here is the weird & magical part instead of scattering, the community hunkered down. After the storm passed, everyone helped each other and the vendors clean up, repair tents, and get things back in order — real unity and compassion on display. Besides the space and weather issues, everyone showed up and represented Tampa beautifully.

Huge thanks to all the guests, vendors, photographers, spectators, and especially the Quaker Steak management and staff for years of keeping people fed, safe, and entertained. This place means a lot to me, and I’m grateful for the close relationships I’ve built there. Tampa — thank you for everything last night. Until we meet again, possibly in August. — REM Events
