Some Cruisers come up for sale.

This 2006 UZJ100 belongs to one of our customers and has spent plenty of time here at Tampa Cruisers getting the attention these trucks deserve.

Most importantly, the engine was extensively refurbished in 2025, from the head gaskets down and the oil pan up.

2001 Toyota Land Cruiser UZJ100

Our shop 100 Series build is almost done, and we’re clearly in love with how she’s turned out so far.

A lot of time, thought and attention to detail have gone into this one, and she’s finally starting to look exactly how we pictured her.

Only a couple more things left to button up before she’s ready for Cruisers & Coffee VOL2 this October.

We’ll share more of the build and the details soon.

This girl left the shop sitting just right for her purpose. Comfortable enough for the daily commute, capable enough for the weekend, and without taking away what makes the GX460 such a great platform to begin with.

And just like that, she’s done.

Months of work.
Hundreds of little details.
A lot of OEM parts, a lot of cleaning, rebuilding, restoring and preserving.

But most importantly, a Land Cruiser ready for another few decades of memories.

When this FZJ80 came to us, the goal was never to make her perfect or turn her into something she wasn’t.
We wanted to bring her back. Mechanically sound, comfortable, clean, dependable and still unmistakably the same Cruiser that has carried her history all these years.

From the undercarriage to the engine bay.
Cooling system, drivetrain, suspension, steering and brakes.
Interior, electrical, A/C and all those little pieces in between that usually get overlooked.

Some things were rebuilt.
Some were replaced.
Some simply needed patience, a good cleaning and a second chance.

And wherever possible, we kept it Toyota.

That original Medium Red Pearl still wears its age proudly. The interior still feels like its 1994. The doors still close like a Cruiser.
And yes, that old Toyota smell is exactly where it belongs.

We didn’t erase 32 years of history.
We just made sure she’s ready to keep adding to it.

This one took a tremendous amount of time from our team, and seeing her sitting here complete makes every hour worth it.

And just like that, she’s ready to go home.

What started as a plan to bring a loyal customer’s Tundra back up to date turned into a proper refresh from front to back.

• Drivetrain serviced. Timing belt job completed alongside the water pump, fan bracket, seals, gaskets, spark plugs and valve cover service.

• Cooling system overhauled along with a complete new OEM steering rack, reservoir and high pressure hose. New CV axles, seals and outer tie rod ends.

• SCS Blaze 17x9, -38mm wrapped in Cooper 315/70R17s.

• Suspension by , bump stops by , with bushings and ball joints refreshed throughout.

• Brake system brought back up to par with OEM components.

• DEPO headlamps and fog lamps.

• Front seats wrapped in marine leather using the factory pattern.

• JVC double DIN wireless Apple CarPlay head unit and rear view camera.

• ashtray phone mount and door reinforcement plates.

A lot of new parts went into this truck, but that was never really the point.

The goal was to make the whole truck feel right again, while looking damn good doing it.

Tight.
Quiet.
Reliable.
Comfortable.

The kind of truck you get in, turn the key and simply enjoy.
Whether that means a road trip, a weekend adventure, or just a Home Depot and Publix run.

There’s something satisfying about taking a well loved older Toyota and giving it everything it needs for its next chapter.

Just proper maintenance, quality parts and attention to the details that make the difference.

She came in as a good ol’ reliable truck.
She’s leaving as one we’d happily drive anywhere.

2006 Toyota Tundra

Another familiar face in the shop.

This Tundra belongs to a loyal customer who decided it was time to give his truck the attention it deserves and bring it properly back up to date.

Not a restoration. Not trying to reinvent it.
Just taking a well loved truck and addressing the years, the miles and all those components that eventually need some TLC, Tampa Cruisers style.

This one is getting a pretty comprehensive refresh.

•Full drivetrain service and maintenance.
•Suspension, brakes and bushings getting overhauled, including ball joints and sway bar components.
•Timing belt service along with a complete cooling system refresh to keep that 2UZFE happy for many more miles.
•The interior will be getting some much needed attention as well, upholsters the seats along with upgraded headlamps and fog lamps to improve both looks and visibility.

A lot of work ahead, but she’s in the right hands.

Love, care and attention to detail throughout the entire process, with one goal in mind:
Bring her back up to date and make her enjoyable for many more years and miles.

It’s all in the details.

Before we show you the finished product, we wanted to slow things down and take a closer look.

Appreciate the small things, and hopefully gather as much joy from them as We did working on her.

The hardware.
The OEMs.
The extras.
The finishes.
The little pieces most people will never notice.

The things that individually may not seem like much, but together make the difference between simply putting a Cruiser back together and properly bringing one back to life.

Months of work have gone into this FZJ80, from the mechanical side to the interior, undercarriage, engine bay and everything in between.

What’s in the shop this week?

Some interesting rigs around the shop this week!

•1981 FZJ40
Well… not really a 1981, but not too far from it either!
This South American Cruiser has some very interesting specs and a few surprises hiding underneath. We’ll show you more in a few swipes!

•1997 FZJ80
Another 80 Series landed in our hands!
You’ll definitely want to swipe through this one. The before and after speaks for itself.

•1996 KZJ90
She’s back for more!
Lots of OEM goodies going into this girl, along with some fresh new shoes.

What’s in the shop this week?

•1981 FZJ40

This 40 Series has some serious business under the hood.

She came over from Colombia with a 1FZ engine sourced from a 70 Series Land Cruiser. Carbureted, plenty of leaks, questionable electrical work, inoperative A/C, low fluids and a seriously messed up steering system.

Ha! Unfortunately, pretty typical stuff on many South American imports.

We got to work and tackled quite a few items.

-New water pump, fresh fluids throughout, new plugs and sealing washers, and new belts.

-The wiring harness received some much needed attention. We cleaned up previous work, added protective loom all around and installed new battery terminals.

-The A/C system received a new compressor, followed by a proper evacuation and recharge to specification. We also addressed the electrical issues within the system. Cold as intended.

-Now, the steering was something else.
Can you believe the steering rods had actually been bent just to make everything fit? 😂

We replaced the steering rods and tie rod ends, corrected the setup and finished everything with a proper four wheel alignment.

She can finally track smoothly!

Part #6: Interior.

Ahhh… the feeling of a clean Cruiser interior.

I gotta say, Cruisers have a particular smell, especially the cloth interior ones.
When this one came into our hands, that smell was long gone and the condition of the interior wasn’t showing her true form.

Well, as you’ve seen, we got to work. Every inch of this Cruiser cabin was cleaned, refreshed and properly treated, while keeping the original character that makes these interiors so special.

Well, as you’ve seen, we got to work. Every inch of this Cruiser cabin was cleaned, refreshed and properly treated, while keeping the original character that makes these interiors so special.

Part #6: Interior.

The steering wheel was in amazing shape. We steam cleaned it and removed years of dirty handprints and grime. Keeping this interior as original as possible was always the intention, so we took extra care with the pieces that simply didn’t need replacing.

One thing that was begging for an upgrade was the stereo.
We went with a simple Pioneer double din unit with wireless Apple CarPlay (AND A K**B!); Paired it with shallow Pioneer speakers throughout. Nothing crazy, nothing that takes away from the original interior. Just a night and day difference in sound and usability without breaking the bank.

The HVAC controls got some love too. New bulbs went in, but we kept the original control k***s to preserve that vintage yellowish glow at night.
And yes, every k**b and button came out for a proper cleaning.
You really don’t want to know how much dirt was hiding behind them after 30+ years.
