VWs Over the Skyway VWs Over the Skyway began in 1995 with a group of friends who wanted to cruise their Volkswagen Buses over the Skyway Bridge.

In 1995, a group of VW Bus owners decided to get together and have a cruise over the Skyway Bridge over Tampa Bay. That small gathering has now grown into what is known today as VWs Over the Skyway. The event happens the 4th weekend in April every year, and is now not only the Sunday cruise, but also a weekend of camping, camaraderie, and cars.

A year ago today I was with some amazing Volkswagen people that helped me at a time when needed most. I completed my chemo surgery and radiation. I want to thank you all for your support. I am cancer free. I love you all

To eliminate some skyway page confusion.. I will be trying to update and combine pics and videos from all the pages that have been previously created for past skyway runs,,, any future 2019 forward you will need to join the new page/group as per Stigs post in the VWOS23 event,

so as you see photos popping up from this site, they are just going to be memories for most of you....

As this page is reminding me to post.... This weekend was awesome seeing everyone at Fisher Buggies!! Great Job to that team and the Manx Club for doing an awesome job! Hope to see you all this weekend at No Dough!! Nothing like VWs Good Peeps and the Beach.... What more could you ask for?? Maybe a bag full of money
