Where were you on September 11, 2001?
25 years ago today, I was sitting in my 8th grade classroom. I still remember our teacher telling us that day was going to change the world for the rest of our lives. I don’t think any of us sitting there really understood what that meant at the time. Looking back now, he couldn’t have been more right.
Most of us can still remember exactly where we were and what we were doing that morning. We watched our country come under attack. Nearly 3,000 people never made it home that day, families were changed forever, and we watched first responders run toward something everyone else was trying to get away from.
25 years later, I hope we never allow September 11th to become just another date on the calendar.
I also hope we don’t forget what America looked like in the days that followed. Flags were everywhere. People prayed together. We supported our military and first responders. Neighbors looked out for neighbors. We had our differences, but we were Americans first.
We don’t have to agree on everything, and we never will. But I think we could all use a little more of that unity today.
Remember that day. Remember the lives we lost. Remember the heroes. And remember how we came together afterward.
Never forget. 🇺🇸
God Bless the United States of America! 🇺🇸
