🏁 Trucker Appreciation Night at Springfield Raceway 🏁
FREE General Admission for all truck drivers with a Class A CDL!
Brines Towing presents our Annual Trucker Appreciation Night at Springfield Raceway. Brines Towing has the equipment to handle it all — from a rotator to haul an 18-wheeler to a rollback for your little Prius.
A big thank-you to Four State Trucks, Asbell Companies, Petro Truck Stop, TLG Peterbilt, MCH Kenworth of Joplin, All Trailer Service, and Atnip Enterprises for helping bring Trucker Appreciation Night to Springfield Raceway.

“Truckers are what keep this world moving — hauling freight from state to state with black smoke rolling. Having a night to show appreciation to truckers across the USA with a free night of entertainment, while tying it in with the memory of my dad, is really something special,” stated Springfield Raceway owner Jerry Hoffman.
Jerry’s grandpa and dad were both independent owner-operators, pulling hopper bottoms and buying and selling grain across the country their entire lives. His grandpa drove gas straight trucks years ago, and his first diesel was a red 1956 Diamond T, purchased from Gene Fleming Diamond T in Salina, Kansas.
In 1966, Grandpa headed back to Gene Fleming and bought a brand-new Diamond T — the first model with a fiberglass hood. Jerry’s dad drove that truck for about a year before buying it from his grandpa.
Jerry’s dad’s first truck cost around $24,000 — a brand-new 1974 Peterbilt purchased at Sioux City Peterbilt in Sioux City, Iowa.
Through the years, Jerry’s grandpa and dad owned around 20 different trucks. They were not always new, but one thing was certain: they took great care of their equipment, keeping it clean and well maintained.
Dad always said, “You don’t always need new equipment. This old stuff just needs worked on a little more, but it’ll still get the job done.”
Larry never got rid of his pride and joy. He had stripped his old 1952 Kenworth down to the frame and was putting it back together. He almost had it finished before he passed away on May 30, 2022.
This Saturday, May 16, all classes will have added money in memory of Larry Hoffman, father of Springfield Raceway owner Jerry Hoffman.
❤️ Dad loved trucks. Dad loved racing. ❤️
Special thanks go out to Bryan Martin of Four State Trucks and Roger Bartlett, General Manager of TLG Peterbilt of Joplin.
Bryan Martin said he couldn’t count the number of times Larry came into the store just to look around, and that the world truly lost an old-school trucker.
Roger Bartlett, an old-school Peterbilt store manager, said, “The world lost a good man. I will forever remember Larry, and he will always have a special place in my heart.”
🏁 Race fans will be treated to 6 classes of dirt car racing on the ¼-mile clay oval! 👀🔥
