I have been printing another IG for conventions and to add to the adoption list.

Most of the large prints are finished. I’ll probably paint more of the details as time permits. Some of the smaller prints I am printing in bronze, chrome, black, or other shades of gray. Trying to break up the color monotony and add some depth.

I’ll have this wrapped up by the end of the month. The Vincent and Super Battle Droid are the priority builds for now. I needed an indoor project and committed to an IG by December, anyway.

Decided to start chipping away at this Super Battle Droid I had printed. There was horrible warping on the pieces so there will be plenty of work ahead.

Here’s what I was able to accomplish on my Outdoor Ugly-Ass Transport, or OU-AT, this weekend. I’m doing the stupid so that you don’t have to.

Added the legs and small ankle pieces. Welded the ankles into place. Coated or filled some areas with resin. Had the bright idea to weld some metal scraps under the neck for support. Learned that my 3D pen is broken. The results are ugly, but effective. Well, currently effective. We’ll see how this does outdoors after some time.

My genius solution to the weight distribution issue is to glue some bricks under the feet. I used a 2 part epoxy as a glue and coated what edges I could with JB weld. Buy a tube of caulk and save yourself some time, effort, and money. Another tip, don’t do this on your work desk on a Sunday afternoon when it takes 24 hours to cure. And, maybe, use some boards for easier transport and as not to place excessive and undue stress on your hack glue job.

The entire thing is an atrocity if you look close. But, I learned some things and it’s a yard decoration. The whole thing is an experiment. Next pictures should, hopefully, be of this monstrosity in my landscape. 🤞🏻

Attached the legs to the ugly outdoor Imperial Walker. I used JB Weld, UV resin, E6000 adhesive, and some welding to keep the leg sections and “hips” stable. It’s still top-heavy, so I plan on using 2 part sculpting clay to adhere the feet to some brick or tiles.

Once the glue dries, I’m going to work on attaching the head. Which is also heavy. I’m going to need to be creative. It’s not like these are solid pieces.
