If you haven't gone over and liked Brian 's page for his new location, please do! We will continue to share his content for a while, but eventually we will be winding this page down.

For many years, we heard that this building was once a car dealership, though we were never really able to confirm that. Upon my purchase of it, I began digging into its history, and I found that it was in fact built in 1957 as a car dealership! It was called Bill Nulty's Motors, and was a Willy's-Jeep dealership. It operated until 1963, when Mr. Nulty passed away. After that, it was many things, but it has now been returned to its car roots!

We have big news... Brian has bought his own building!
He has moved the dealership cars to his new location at 810 Grubert Ave, Staunton Virginia 24401.
You are invited to visit him there, just 2 miles west of downtown and follow his page Antique and Classic Automobiles LLC
He will be returning to a much more active social media presence, much as many of you will remember this page having over the years.

For the new year, we had resolved to return to our feature car posts. 2 weekends and 2 snowstorms into that new year, and we haven't made that happen yet. As the 3rd weekend approaches, and the 3rd snowstorm, we decided to have a little fun: You've likely seen the trend on Facebook right now of the 10 year challenge. Well, we present to you the 50 year challenge!
If you've been in our showroom, you've seen Brian's 1972 K/5 Blazer. It was purchased new by his father, cherished by him, and Brian was even brought home from the hospital in it when he was born. A treasured family heirloom, it is displayed in our showroom and will never be for sale.
The first picture is of it when it was almost new, doing the work it was designed to do, in the type of weather we are forecasted to receive this weekend. Retired from that life now, the second picture is of it 50 years later, out front, having had a little exercise this summer.

We no longer give individual guided tours of the facility, but we remain open to the public most Friday's and Saturday's, and invite folks to come in and view the cars in our first floor showroom (including the Blazer) on those days.

Antique and Classic Automobiles will be closed July 29th through August 19th.

We know we have been posting a lot of closures lately- it is that time of the year: Summer vacations and Brian 's return to in person Naval Reserve duty have that impact.

That makes us well overdue for a cool car posting, and upon the mid August return, we shall do just that. Until then, enjoy the rest of your summer!

07/15/2021

Antique and Classic Automobiles will be closed Friday, July 16th and Saturday, July 17th while Brian is away celebrating the fact that his beautiful wife has put up with his shenanigans for yet another year.

Antique and Classic Automobiles will be closed Friday and Saturday July 9th and 10th while Brian is away for Naval Reserve duty.

We have been remiss in reporting the 1965 Mustang sold new here at Augusta Motors in June of 1965, has in fact found a new home, and that home remains right here in the local area. The new owners intend to use it and enjoy it, just as the previous owner did. It was our privilege to be a small part of the unique story of this automobile.

We are no longer offering individual guided tours on Friday and Saturday's. However, Antique and Classic Automobiles' showroom is open those days for sales, appraisals, and limited visitation. Sales and appraisals are also available by appointment throughout the week. Club and special tours of the full facility can still be scheduled for a minimum of 20 guests. Please contact us for arrangements and reservations.

In April of 1964, Ford unveiled the new Mustang. Despite being known as 1964 1/2, they were all titled as 1965. By the end of model year production, the cars had surpassed anyone's (including Ford's) expectations of success, selling more than 550,000 units. There were more than 400,000 coupes like this one alone.
In theory, that makes this car rather un-exceptional. A nicely restored coupe with a 289, 4 bbl, and 3 speed manual.
EXCEPT...
This car was sold new here at Augusta Motor Sales, and the folks we are selling it for are the same folks who bought it new.
That's right: this is a 1 owner 1965 Mustang.
And when we sell it, the two times in its life it will have been sold will have been from the same place on the same street in the same town. This is a bit of un-paralleled local history; a car that is technically one of many, but truly one of one.
For that reason, we would love to see its next owner also be from the local area to carry on the unique story of this car.

Our tours remain suspended out of an abundance of caution. We are available by appointment for sales and appraisals.

We wish to take a moment to share our appreciation at the outpouring of support, sympathy and condolences we have received upon the passing of Bruce. His family extends their thanks to everyone who has sent a card, letter, flowers, or message in the last couple of weeks.
Bruce loved his family, automobiles and his community. His presence will be missed greatly by all, but his impacts will certainly live on.
Again, our thanks, and in Bruce's words, to everyone: "Be Well"

Continuing with our recent theme of feature cars from American Motors Corporation, this week we feature this 1950 Hudson Commodore Six. Hudson Motor Car Company was founded in 1909 and in 1954 merged with Nash-Kelvinator to form AMC. The eventual plan was to merge with Studebaker-Packard, which never happened, but that is a story for another time.
This car is being sold for a long time close friend of ours, and we enjoy how different generations view it. Some remember how smooth and easy to drive these cars are while others remember them as the car Morgan Freeman drove Miss Daisy in. Our younger fans now see Paul Newman as Doc Hudson, carrying on the recognition of these fine low, sleek and stylish automobiles.

Tours remain suspended due to COVID-19 precautions. We remain open by appointment for sales and appraisals.
