This bus needed more than a quick fix. We tackled major fuel system repairs and EGR system service to address the issues and help get this unit back on the road.

🛠️ HERE’S WHAT THIS REPAIR INCLUDED:

🔴 Complete fuel rail replacement — Cracked threads at the number 6 fuel line connection required replacement of the complete fuel rail.

🔴 Fuel line replacement — Replaced the fuel lines as part of the repair.

🔴 EGR cooler replacement — The existing cooler was clogged and needed replacement.

🔴 EGR delta-P cleaning — Cleaned the differential pressure system components.

🔴 EGR valve cleaning — Addressed carbon buildup and contamination.

🔴 EGR mixer housing cleaning — Cleaned the housing as part of the EGR system service.

A proper Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) can help identify problems before they turn into bigger repairs, unexpected downtime, or serious safety concerns.

We received a call for a leaking wheel seal, and once we got on-site and inspected the truck, we found just how important it is to catch these issues early.

🛠️ HERE’S WHAT WE FOUND AND REPAIRED:

🔴 Replaced the leaking inner wheel seal.

🔴 Found the brake shoes on the leaking side heavily contaminated with axle oil.

🔴 Replaced the brake shoes on BOTH sides of the drive axle.

⚠️ WHY DID WE REPLACE BOTH SIDES?

The brake shoes on the wheel seal side were contaminated so badly with oil that we didn’t want to risk reusing them. Oil-soaked brake linings can compromise braking performance, and cleaning them wasn’t a risk we were willing to take. We replaced the shoes on the opposite side as well to maintain consistent braking components across the axle.

We were out servicing this Blue Bird school bus that had an intermittent starting issue. The complaint? Once the engine warmed up and was shut off, it wouldn’t restart until things cooled back down!
