Another unique project completed and another learning experience. This is a 1960 Ford Ranch Wagon. Less than 800 were made 66 years ago, so you can imagine finding parts is very difficult. The cardboard headliner sections were in OK shape, so I took everything out to add a black vinyl before putting it all back together. Having never done one, and honestly never planning to see another in the wild, the whole experience was a challenge.
Two of the cardboard sections were so warped that I couldn't get the edges to stay tucked behind the plastic joints. My first thought was steaming them, but was afraid to try in case they delaminated. I tried bonding a few paint sticks to the back and the trick straightened the piece enough. I did a similar trick on the 2nd one, and was able to get the headliner back in.

Wrapping up the week with finishing my portion of the 1948 Mercury Club Coupe. I did the headliner a few weeks ago, and just needed to make sunvisors to match. The customer supplied the mounting frames, and I did the rest. Team work makes the dream work.

Another job done from my queue. This customer bought the cover online and just needed it installed after a little foam repair. It's ready for hunting season, whether that's rabbit or duck.

Half of the time I don't get to see my completed work after installation. The owner of the F250 that I finished the seat for yesterday also bought new seat belts. He recently injured his shoulder, so I swapped the seat belts before installing the seat this morning.
If you need more work than just a seat or a headliner, I can usually do it. We're changing the door panels in the near future also as this is a rest mod show truck.

This 1992 Ford F250 bench seat is ready to go back to the customer. The original fabric isn't in production anymore, so we chose to change the fabrics to a light tan tweed for the inserts and a tan/gray velour for everything else.

I am starting to get things out of the shop as I have time. Yesterday I got one 5 gallon bucket of tools. Mostly sockets and solid wrenches. If it moved or had anything non-metallic, it's ruined from the fire. 35 years of tools, memorabilia, and more are gone.

We did, finally, put together a GoFundMe for the folks that have been asking how they could help but that didn't want to do PayPal or Venmo.

Our most pressing need right now is gas money. Yes we have some savings but it's going to be going quickly as we start figuring out how to get power, water and animal housing set up. With our daily trips to feed and water the animals we're spending $30 a day in fuel.

With all that has happened in the last week, it's been a small blessing to get some sewing therapy at a friend's shop this week. I had a 1992 Ford F250 bench seat in for new upholstery, and we took it and every other customer piece out on the first evacuation load to ensure some continuity in case something happened.
This is going into a restored F250 and we're changing the colors a little. The inserts are a sand colored tweed with a very light brown/gray velour on the skirting / bolsters.
